Mission: Episode 07 - Sojourn
Location: USS Galileo - Deck 3, Sickbay
Timeline: MD42: 1920hrs

Previously.....

"Awww, you would have him horribly beaten for me? You're the best." With Olsam bent over, Tuula could better wrap her arms around him for a proper hug. And a little thank you kiss on the cheek. "Thank you, Doctor Mott," she added. Seeing him not recoil in fear at the first kiss, she went in for another, this time on the lips. "Thank you."

As a groan passed Rebecca's lips, she attempted to move her hand to press the palm against her throbbing head, "Is there any chance that anyone caught the registration of the shuttle that hit me?" Finding her hand held down by material of some sort, the yeoman just groaned again and allowed her body to flop back down, "Could someone help here...I'm not particularly feeling up to any sex games tonight."

And Now....

"Oh!" Tuula released Mott from her grip and turned to her patient. "You hit your head pretty hard there," she added, gently turning the patient's head towards her with one hand as she reached for a small flashlight with the other. Shining the light in her eyes, she continued. "Dilation of the pupils is normal, and I'm not detecting anything indicating severe brain damage, so that's good."

"Yay..." Rebecca said the world very weakly as she still tried to get her hand free from the coverings. "Have you anything on that medical cart for a pounding headache?"

"I'm afraid you'll just have to tough it out until the trianoline kicks in; any analgesic I give you right now might interfere with the trianoline. But if you hold still," said Tuula, producing a dermal regenerator from the medcart, "I can start taking care of that nasty head wound."

"Head wound?" Confusion started to settle in as Rebecca opened her eyes and started to process where exactly she was. Sitting up abruptly on the biobed, she didn't care when the sheet fell away to expose her barely covered chest. the pounding in her head intenisified but her concentration was on the anger and fury she was feeling inside for the alien just out of her reach. "What the hell happened?!? Last thing I remember was sitting on your knee feeding you fruit...."

"Shortly afterward you attempted to sexually assault me," Olsam said, rambling on as if he was giving an account of an everyday occurrence. "I was going to just sedate you, but I couldn't find my hypo of ambizine and panicked. You fell off my lap and struck your head against the table near the coronal suture, inducing superficial bleeding and a concussion that have been treated by Dr. Voutilainen and myself. The good news is that you'll make a full recovery in a few days, and I've decided not to press charges."

"You won't press charges...." Rebecca went to move from the biomes but an overwhelming dizziness moved through her head. Pushing the palm of her hand against her temple, she looked over to the Bolian with a cold and unforgiving look in her eyes. "Witnesses will show you recouperated my advances as will security footage. You've just admitted in the presence of a witness that you were going to drug me but instead caused an incident which resulted in me being knocked out...."

Looking to the Doctor, the yeoman winced at the pain the movement caused. "Can you please call security. I want this alien arrested and charged."

"This alien? Arrested? What? I didn't even know your advances were advances!" Olsam huffed, wondering if maybe he should sedate her now. "And of course I was going to drug you. You had your hands on my no-no zone, lady. It's called a 'no-no zone' for a reason."

"Enough!" shouted Tuula, understanding what had happened. Olsam had once told her about his "girlfriend" from the Academy, and it didn't take a brain surgeon to understand what happened.

"No one is going to press charges against anyone," she continued. "Clearly, this was all a big misunderstanding. Ms. Williams, I'm afraid that, despite his... difficulties in articlulating it, Olsam here is just not that into you."

Blinking for a moment, Rebecca twisted her body sideways so as to look at the Doctor face on. Realising that this required her to look down, the yeoman only now noticed the contraption in which the other woman sat. "My dear...do you genuinely think that this is about me being into that...that alien? This was solely about sexual gratification. Pick up a guy in a bar, bring him home, screw him, wave him good bye once the act is finished....All you need is a willing body and that's what this Bolian presented himself to me as."

Glancing over at the Bolian in revulsion, Rebecca realised that next time she would go with her first instinct, if the person she was approaching didn't seem right, move on. "I don't even know his name as, if you ask him, you will probably find he doesn't know mine. That's how the game works. I have never forced anyone against their will, why would I when the ship is full of men and women who would jump at no strings attached sex. It's part of a routine for some people. The only reason this alien came into the equation was because he presented himself as willing when approached. I do not appreciate the deflamation of character that he's suggesting and spreading around, I've a career and a job on this ship and if he starts to shout sexual molestation to anyone who will listen, how is that going to be seen?"

"Dr. Mott, I'm sure we can file this little incident under doctor-patient confidentiality," said Tuula, trying to defuse the situation. She let out a little sigh, exasperated at the antics of both of them before turning towards Rebecca. "As for you, as tempting as the idea of sex without strings attached sounds, and as exotic as Bolians are, it would be best if you simply forgot about this whole incident and refrained from trying to seduce Dr. Mott."

Rebecca grabbed the blanket which had been covering her as she wrapped it toga style around her body. Her eyes watched the Doctor as a thought crossed her mind, one which she passed over as being ridiculous. "I can readily assure you, Dr. Mott will not see me again unless it's from a very far distance."

"Oh, okay," Olsam said dumbly, shrugging. He wasn't sure what that meant, maybe she was taking a pot-shot at his eyesight. She seemed to be overreacting a bit, he thought, but it was probably just the human concept of 'saving face,' which he'd learned early on did not mean a bunch of specimen jars filled with faces, as he'd originally thought. "I'm sure I'll see you again if you ever get hurt, though. I mean, I am a physician on the ship. We're kind of hard to avoid if you get hurt. Like, someone breaks your leg or you contract a sexually-transmitted disease."

Moving down from the bio-bed, Rebecca choose to ignore the last comment as she focused on the female Doctor. "Can I go back to my quarters now? I need to get cleaned up."

"I'd actually like to keep you here for observation," replied Tuula. "Possibly overnight. Concussions can sometimes be unpredictable. But feel free to make yourself comfortable." She then turned towards Mott. "Olsam, I think it best for the patient that you retire to your quarters. And... perhaps clean your carpet."

Rebecca blinked at this. Running some calculations through her mind, she figured that she'd nothing else to be doing. "Sure....I can stay. It was my quarters this happened in, not his. I'd prefer if he didn't touch my quarters....It'll be hard enough explaining the food and blood to my roommate without also explaining the presence of a bulky Bolian trying to clean it. I'll sort it tomorrow."

Olsam might have been slow, but he wasn't (entirely) stupid. He knew a fat joke when he heard one, but he decided to be the bigger person and not comment on it. "I think it's best for the patient if I retire to my quarters," he repeated, as if he'd come up with the idea himself, "but I'm not taking that carpet with me. Mostly because it's not mine. I took it from her quarters because I needed something to wrap her in to preserve her modesty, something which I'll note she doesn't seem to the be the least bit grateful about." The Bolian wrinkled up his nose and huffed. "I'll ask one of the techs to dispose of it since it's biohazardous. And maybe someone from Ops can get a new one from the industrial replicator."

"No!" Rebecca nearly fell off of the biobed in reaction to the Bolian's suggestion. Involvement of so many people would cause questions and questions meant reports and reports meant alot of people finding out. "Leave it to me. If you could take care of the disposal of what's here, it can be easily passed off as being from sickbay anyway. I can sort the replacement."

Gritting her teeth, the yeoman tried to be nice as she attempted a half smile in the Bolian's direction. "Thank you for being kind enough to think of offering though."

"Passed off? Why would I need to pass the rug off as anything other than a blood-stained rug?" Olsam asked, looking from Rebecca to Tuula for an explanation. "Are we covering up something? Have you been convicted of a sex crime and your sentence stipulates you can't solicit Bolians? I suppose next you're going to tell me not to report this to the security department."

"Just get rid of the carpet, Olsam," said Tuula, elbowing the confused Bolian in the arm. She stared Olsam in the eye and glared at him menacingly. It was more serious of a look than she had ever given her colleague before. "And don't report this to security," she added in a tone that brooked no argument.

Olsam wrinkled his nose up at Tuula but limited his defiance to just that. Sometimes your colleagues had a more objective opinion, especially about situations you were directly involved in, so it was better to defer to their judgment. Fixing Rebecca and Tuula with one last lingering look, he huffed, picked up the bloody rug, and stomped out of Sickbay.

Rebecca let out the breath she'd been holding as the anger in her face finally changed to exhaustion. Feeling lightheaded as the throbbing in her skull returned, she looked back at the female Doctor. "How do you cope with him day in and day out?"

"Doctor Mott?" Tuula was surprised at the question. "He may be a little strange, but he's actually a wonderful person. He's warm, caring, intelligent, fun..." Tuula's voice softened. "And the way he took care of a problem with a horrible ex... I couldn't ask for a better mentor."
