Mission: Episode 07 - Sojourn
Location: USS Galileo - Deck 3 - Sickbay
Timeline: MD 41 - 11.11 hours

ON:

Aeleni entered sickbay, holding a PADD with her medical file on it, and looked around. The room was small, only 3 biobeds in it. "Anybody home?" she yelled when she saw no one around.

Allyndra heard the sickbay doors open and then a voice. "In the office please come on in." She was busy with her PaDDs and updating files. It was boring work in some respects but in others now that her fingers had fully come back it felt good to put them to use.

"Goodmorning Ma'am" she said enthusiastic. Offering her the PADD she said. "I've come for my physical." after the Dokter accepted the Padd from her she continued. "There isn't very much interesting in there. Well, I think there is, but the physician on my former ship didn't thought there was. Who am I to go against him."

"Please just Allyndra. I have a rule in sickbay," Allyndra said that looking with a smile and light tone indicating she was not upset. "We use personnel names, no ranks here unless needed." Though she wondered about that last incident if it would have mattered one way or the other. She shoved that out of her mind. Done was done now. "Please take a seat let me review quickly before we get you on a bed."

She took a look at the PaDD briefly and then pulled up the medical record. While she perused quickly the dark haired woman's medical summary she remembered her manners. "Feel free by the way to use the replicator there in the corner. So Aeleni, may I call you that? And did I get it right?"

She ordered a coffee from the replicator. She wasn't suppose to drink this as it apparently made her even more jumpy. She really like this human drink.

"Betazoid and Rigelian? A combination I do not think I have come across before." Allydnra said and then gently, "Computer please close and lock office door." She waited a moment, while the door slide closed and distinct click was heard. "I am curious if I may inquire about some of your medical record. It would appear that you underwent the Betazoid change?"

She chuckled at the doctor's question. "No problem at all, Although I'm not sure what is so special about it. I've been told that it is unusual, but it's just something that runs in our family. Something I was prepared for. Sort of." She took a sip from her drink. "Most woman go through the Phase in their mid-life, but the woman in my family get it in their early twenties."

"I see..." Allyndra mused. "I curious since what I could find in mixed species tends to be more subdued than in full Betazoid. If anything it would appear that you were subject as much as a full Betazoid and earlier as well." Allyndra smiled and made that odd loose shouldered shrug. "I do hope you will forgive me my curiosity. I can not help but speculate what contribution your Rigelian component must have."

"Oh, no problem at all." Aelina started. "Feel free to test any theory you want to. I've always wanted to be a guinny pig." Continuing on a more serious tone. "I don't know much about my Rigillian side, beside my fathers name and species."

"Well, they are a Vulcan off-shoot, but not one of the followers of either Surrak or the banner of the Raptor. In some respects, I think they got it right, enough control but not suppressed. Since they are more free in emotions and looking at the medical record it would appear that you do not get the Vulcan tugs of pon far correct?"

"That is correct. Or it still has to come, but as I've already had the Betazoid version I'm really hoping that one to skip me." she said with a chuckle.

"I would say I think you are in luck," Allyndra smiled. "I could just see a pon far combined with a Betazoid phase. I would have to lock up every male on the ship I think."

"But where's the fun of that." she said with a grin.

"Now, then...," Allyndra stood and indicated the door to the office. "Let's get the quick formalities out of the way."

Aelina walked to the closest bio bed and hopped on. Waving her legs back and fourth. "Let's get started!"

Allyndra could not help but smile at the enthusiasm, almost anyone else would almost have to be kicking and screaming sometimes to get a check up. "Alright, now that we already talked about other things, is there anything medically that I should know without having to dig into your file? Any recent changes in medical condition or new aliment or new problems?"

"Nopes, nothing special. The last medical thing happening to me was the birth of my daughter."

Oh?" Allyndra said looking at her patient. "Was that recent, was everything normal or does your statement imply something?"

"Sise is five years old. I really wouldn't know what is normal. I only have been through that once in my life. But I guess that it went normal." Aelina answered. "Wouldn't it be in my medical file if it hadn't?"

"Medically yes, but I meant has the child shown anything unusual. As you yourself noted you experienced the Betazoid change earlier than those had. Multiple species inherited children can have unusual things show up that a full species might not have."

She looked up at the doctor worried. "You mean her mixed heritage can bring complications?" She started turning the ring on her finger. "I never knew that was possible. I never had any problems growing up with my father being Rigillian, beside the bad combo with my family genetics that is." She was quite for a moment. "I don't think anyone know, but Sise's father is Human. If I knew about the danger of being a mixed species I would have made sure she would see a doctor regularly." By the time she finished rambling she was really worried.

Allyndra nodded solemnly. "While most of the time things go well, you must realize that each species was somewhat fitted to its environment and a mix can sometimes bring out things that are unexpected. The literature is filled with cases. So yes, a good idea that she should be periodically checked. Now then I did not mean to alarm just trying to catch things ahead of time so no surprises. Now then, let's get your scan out of the way shall we?"

Aeleni made a mental note to herself to call her mother as soon as possible to get Sise checked by a docter. How could she not know that, being a mix herself. "Yes, please."

"Very good, please lay back." Allyndra said and started the scan. As she watched the results she compared them to the results of the last scan that was in the PaDD medical record. A few small changes but nothing that seemed to be out of the ordinary. Finally, Allyndra pronounced, "Got it and it looks similar to your last one so I think we are good to sign you off. Any other questions or concerns?"

Aeleni thought about that for a second. She had a tendency to forget things. Going through the grey mass in her mind for a sec, she couldn't come up with anything now. She probably would after she got back to her quarters. "Nothing I can think of for now."

"Very good," Allyndra always liked to do a little flourish signing off on the PaDD. "Your hereby cleared medically." She looked back up, "Now then, if anything comes up, even if you just need someone to talk to the door is always open."
