Mission: Episode 06 - Legend of Souls
Location: USS Galileo - Deck 2 - Lt. Cmdr Mialin's Quarters
Timeline: MD 09 - 1927

Recent events had left Dea with a matter she wanted to take care of sooner rather than later. Despite all the Tribble chaos Mialin really didn't want to delay this meeting any further. She'd arranged a time to meet with Luke Wyatt about cross training in Security. "Thank you for taking some time to meet with me."

Luke was a little surprised when Commander Mialin asked for them to meet, he usually had very little to do with flight operation and a part of him thought it was about Abbey "No problem" He said smiling as he entered the commanders office.

"There's something I've been wanting to discuss with you and recent events have only emphasized my reasons behind my request. I'd like to do more to keep my Security skills up than just checking off a qual here or there when it comes up."

Luke nodded, he could understand how the last away mission and the problem with the Tribble's could cause someone to want to change up and home in on their combat skills. He had seen plenty of action whilst serving aboard the Galileo which was primarily designated as a science vessel. "What do you have in mind exactly? Training is one thing but if you want to learn what me and my team do then it will require some time and commitment from you" He admitted still learning the job himself and knowing that the Commander had her own department to run he'd imagine it would be a fair few late nighters and a lot of caffeinated beverages.

"Its the time and commitment I'm looking for within reason" Dea admitted. "Security was one of my minors at the Academy so my goals go beyond just the routine training thats required. Additionally this will help me in my duties as Second Officer as well. I'm of course more than happy to reciprocate in anyway I can for you help in this matter."

Luke nodded along to her words as she sang them, "Good at least I am not teaching you from scratch. That may have tested my patients" He admitted crossing his arms and thinking thoughtfully for a moment "I do have a couple of requests however"

Dea nodded, "Sure go ahead." It wasn't unreasonable for Wyatt to have a few requests of his own related to her inquiry.

"Firstly would you mind if I access your academic files? So I can see just where I should begin I'm no teacher but I'm sure I can do what you want me to do but I must warn you Commander all the training in the world couldn't have changed the outcome of the mine incident, we was lucky and sometimes luck doesn't play out well for the likes of us"

Looking at him, "Not at all I figured that is part of all this." For a moment she paused then continued. "If you need anything more there let me know. You'll see if you look at my base service jacket that I took a rather interesting path to get where I am now."

Luke listened before continuing to his second request "And secondly I'd like to share some time with you" He sad letting the second request set in before continuing "Don't jump to conclusion just yet" He held his hands up defensively. "Atleast until you hear me out"

Listening to his comment Dea paused, "I wasn't about to say no as long at its for legit reasons."

"Despite the rumours you may have heard I don't go around trying to woo woman as my past time hobby so you dont have to worry about that." Luke paused for a moment before continuing now that she had agreed to his terms.

"As I said I am no teacher so I will try my best but to do that I want to know you. I want to know you strengths, your weakness', your likes and dislikes" He paused a moment to add effect and to give her time to process the information "I want to know what makes you tick and what pisses you of and I want you to know the same about me. The best way for me to teach you is if we can gel together, I wont ask you to do anything I wouldn't and I certainly wouldn't do anything if you arnt capable of doing it.

I wont be teaching you the holy grail of the federation I'll be teaching you how to surviv and kill to divide and conquer I will be showing you how to do things you didn't think was possible and I wont say yes unless you can accept that what I teach you, how I teach you isn't by the books"

"The reason I came to you is because I'm not looking for by the book solutions. I'm looking to be pushed out of my comfort zone and challenged, like when I was a full time combat pilot. Galileo may be a Science ship but as you've see our missions are not exactly quiet. Now I'm not just responsible for my own department others as well." Dea meeting his gaze, "So I have no problems with that request."

"Good, in which case we should start as soon as were both free knowing the Galileo's Luck we'll be discovering a new hostile race hell bent on our destruction" He said calmly putting his hand across the table "And let the deal be struck" He said with a grin.

Dea shook his hand, "I know the feeling. It seems for a science ship we run into a lot of species that have that as their main goal. Thank you for meeting with me I look forward to learning more from you."
