Mission: Episode 06 - Legend of Souls
Location: USS Galileo - Deck 3, Security office
Timeline: MD8, 2000 hours

ON:

Luke rested his head on the desk in front of him sighing heavily into his hands. "There was never this much paper work in the marines, kick ass and take names that's how I prefer it" He said talking to himself his voice slightly muffled by the desk. He had been going over all the reports and away missions since the Galileo left space dock and he couldn't get his head round the filing system Rhodes used. Taking a break he now sat in his chair with his head firmly placed in his hands on the desk.

The door all but flew open to admit a Human looking young man in his early thirties. The ensign's black eyes were filled with emotion, his pale face a mask of anguish.

Yet, it seemed to flood with relief as the person he saw at the desk was a male officer. "Sir.. I need your help. Please..." He thrust a PADD forward at the man. "Please, you have to help me."

Looking up from his desk he raised an eye brow "Oh please come in, make you're self at home" He mocked whilst he sat back into his seat and took the PADD from the man. "Whats this?" He asked meaning the PADD.

Remaining standing, Tyrion eyed the man nervously. "Murder investigation," he replied simply, "all the files are there. It's my... my boyfriend, well sort of boyfriend we were sort of dating... on my last assignment, he was murdered sir."

Luke looked over the file carefully before putting it down on his desk confused "You were dating your sort of brother?" he asked leaning back into his seat as a frown appeared on his forehead.

"No no no not my brother, I don't have any brothers. My boyfriend. I say sort of, because we were only just dating but I did love him, very much. Still do...except he's dead and I want to find who murdered him. Chesapeake's security stopped investigating when leads got to a dead end. I don't buy it, someone killed it, and I want to find who. I won't stop until I found out who. "

"I'm sorry but what can I do? I am a Chief security officer aboard a starfleet vessel and a new one at that not a private detective" He replied maybe a little but to harshly but this was the last thing Luke needed right now.

"Lieutenant j.g. Tyrek was a science officer, as he was starfleet that falls within your purview," Tyrion retorted stubbornly.

Sighing Luke picked up the PaDD once more "Tell me more, You've clearly looked into this yourself so tell me what you've got" He offered.

"I've only just called up all the files but Commander Markos has forbidden me to research this while working, and she's also told me not to use ship resources. But I can't let this go sir, I can't let his murderer go unpunished." He accessed one of the files and turned the PADD around. It showed a somewhat obscured video of the murder. Tyrek was brutally stabbed, and Tyrion was attacked too. Specifics of the obscured killer showed assumed height and weight as well as the killer being left-handed. After all it clearly showed a blade in the killer's left hand.

Luke slightly intrigued read over the file and watched the file one last time this time paying more attention "Tell me more, this list what was it comprised from?"

"Chief Johnson used holographic imaging and compared the digital profile against all male crew and from there started an elimination process. I was there, I was attacked too but I was too late to save him. Tyrek died in my arms. I never saw the killer." Tears and frustration showed on his face. "Please, you have to help me. I can't rest until I know. Please..."

Luke could see the desperation in the man's eyes and it reminded himself of a younger him when his wife had died begging anyone to help him except of course there was no one alive to be trailed, suicide attacks were sometimes the hardest. "I will help you" He gave in finally.

Relief flooded the Betazoid's face, tears of joy streaming down his cheeks. "Thank you," he breathed gratefully. "Thank you sir, thank you. It means so much to me to see this completed." Without thinking, he got up and walked around the desk and before Luke knew it, the Betazoid had hauled him up in a desperately tight hug. "Thank you," he repeated, not knowing what else to say.

Being hugged he rolled his eyes as he pat the man's back "I wont be able to help if you suffocate me" he said between gasping breaths to emphasis that he was being perhaps hugged to tightly.

Instantly the man was let go and Tyrion created some distance between them. "I'm...I should go... I'm on duty in three hours. Thank you again sir, this means everything to me."

Dusting down his uniform and getting rid of any creases he smiled "I can see that it does" He moved to sit back down on his chair "If there isn't anything else Ensign I have work to do" He paused "Oh and next time, knock before entering" The words weren't demanding just a warning, Luke wasn't one to care but he didn't like people barging in on him demanding things.

"Yes sir," Tyrion replied, still sounding grateful. "Sorry sir. I'll.. I'll be going now. Bye sir." Still talking, the Betazoid backed out of the office, then made a run for it.
