On:

Whenever he felt the urge to speak to someone Oliver was used to talking with a priest or a close friend. But since his life had been completely hectic since coming aboard the Galileo the Yeoman hadn't been able to really make any friends. Hesitantly, he walked to Counseling Suite. Oliver wasn't a fan of Counselors but understood their need.

He pressed the door chime and waited to admitted in.

"Come in..." Dorian called out, looking over to the door as he moved to slide the PADD away. It had been an otherwise quiet day and he was using it as a chance to catch up on his reading about the ship and the crew.

Oliver walked in with a hat-in-hands look about him. "I am sorry if I am disturbing you sir. But I need to talk to someone. This has been eating me since I came on board and, since there isn't a Catholic priest on board..." He raised his hands and started to speak quickly, "It's not that I don't like counselors it's just I find it easier to speak to chaplains."

He turned away, "I can come back later."

"Not at all," Dorian stood quickly, motioning him back over. "I was just filling my time until someone came. Come and take a seat," he pointed to the small sofa and chair in front of the desk, moving to get to the replicator. "Can I get you anything?"

"No, I am fine thank you." Oliver said as he sat down. "I came by because I have a rather certain situation that may affect my work. It's certainly personal and I need someone to help bring some context to my feelings."

"Well, let's see if we can help you with that," Dorian nodded, moving to sit with him as he gave a small smile. "What's on your mind?"

Oliver tried to keep his composure. "For the longest time. I have tried my best to keep certain personal matters away from my professional life. But recently I have developed infatuation, a crush on Luke Wyatt. I know it's silly. Almost like a school-boy crush. I could get over it. But when ever we cross in a corridor or see him on the bridge. I get goosebumps." Butterflies started to form in his stomach. "I don't like to say things like this because to say something means that it's real."

"Maybe you need to talk about it," Dorian suggested with a small smile. "Maybe holding it all in has made the feelings more intense. Maybe if you talk about it, it'll ease off a bit."

"I guess you're right. But I still can't get over the fact that even though I have these feelings they're never going to be reciprocated no matter how much I want them to." Oliver shook his head. "But I guess I have to live with it."

Dorian watched him in thought for a long moment, taking a gentle breath. "What was going on in your life at the time this crush developed and became....serious?"

"I don't remember. Honestly. It's merely physical I think. I mean I can't help who I am attracted to can I?"

"No," Dorian chuckled softly at that. It would be a lot easier if people could though. "How much have you interacted with him? Sometimes, if it's just a physical thing, it helps to speak and interact with them more, oddly enough. It...eases the tension and shows you that they're just, well, normal."

"That's the thing, I don't interact with him. Until recently I've only seen him on the bridge. It's like that strange, 'like you from afar' thing, and sometimes at the gym." Oliver laughed. "I know nothing will come from it. But I can't stand it sometimes."

Dorian chuckled, nodding softly with full understanding. "Some people are just like that. Special. Try talking to him a few times or having a drink. Seeing he's...just another guy might help."

"Thanks I might do that." Oliver stood up. "Thanks"

Dorian nodded as he stood with him, giving him a small but encouraging smile. "If things don't change or get worse though, you know you can come back whenever you want, right?"

"Thanks Doc," Oliver said as he stood up to leave. "I will take your advice."
