Mission: Episode 04 - Exodus
Location: USS Galileo - Deck 4, Impulse Engines
Timeline: MD 08 - 0830 hrs

Willis escorted the group of alien engineers up through the jeffries tubes and into the control room. "Now, here is the secondary control console for the main impulse control junction. Usually we have two, but the other was...well...it's gone."

Rhodes and Stark followed the Engineers into the small open area. This was not going to go well, if they were going to all be cramped in this area together.

"How do you work with such rudimentary equipment?" ask one of the guests.

"Well...whatever your name is, this isn't all that bad. Granted this is the very access point that Crewman Wasy lost his virginity in. Well. He didn't lose it really. You can't obviously lose it if you forget where you put it..well, Wasy did... can....but he didn't then. He had his virginity, but lost while making a repair here. In there, really...in the actual crawl pace over there, not here. I mean, we are here, but not this exact spot...."

Lt. Rhodes just closed his eyes and shook his head at the ridiculousness of the dialog he had just heard.

The same unknown engineer raised a hand and stared at Willis with annoyance. "Where is your main interface in this...area? I don't need you to tell me...just point please."

Willis looked caught off guard and couldn't for the life of him figure out why they didn't want him to tell him, but only point. His universal translator was working fine. Maybe it was only going one way though. May have to look into that and take his apart....

The Alien started to tap his foot, waiting on a directional answer and wondering if the human was brain damaged or had special needs as he hadn't even moved or made a sound, but carried an unusual look upon his face.

"Oh, sorry." Willis pointed towards the main interface. "You won't be able to crack the code to get in though, I personally..."

The Alien had already moved to the terminal and linked his tablet into the interface and was accessing the command files for operational controls and setting on the nacelle.

...." haven't tried them, but I'm sure I will check them later...when you're done."

Lt. Rhodes became very concerned at the speed that the Le'kt was able to walk through their security protection to get to the command files. That meant that any and all information was wide open to them . . . if they wanted it.

Stark glanced across to Rhodes, his dark eyes showing the same concern as his boss. "Well, they say that being put back in your place in the scheme of life is good for the soul - don't they?"

Not taking his eyes of the Le'kt, "I have heard that phrase too, but never truly have I observed in until now." Rhodes said with a flat voice. He looked to Stark, "We definitely need to watch the Le'kt." He looked back at the repairs taking place, "I really do not trust these guys."

Some time later...

Deck 2 - Impulse Control

Lt. Rhodes walked into the Engineering area for the Impulse Engines. He gave a nod to Stark. He saw that the Le'kt were working away like they had an unlimited energy supply. He stepped over next to Willis and asked, "Do not these aliens ever rest . . . or eat?"

Willis shook his head. "They have done nothing, but work. I mean, not even a quick pee break, sir. They are...machines or have unlimited energy reserves."

Rhodes shook his head slightly, "I do not understand either. Where are they now with the repair?"

"They're about done, Sir." replied Willis. "And the encryption and firewalls? They never even flinched with them. Except for one that was on the Computer Core's main processor."

Theron watched the repair continue and replied, "I am sure from an engineering standpoint that we are watching some amazing work. But, from a security standpoint, it scares me to death." He looked to Willis, "Just what else could they have accessed while working on this?' It was more of a statement, than a question.

Willis pointed to a terminal and opened up a sub-routine he had stashed in the MSD's tertiary back up sensors. "I had forgotten about this until an hour or so. Back when Quinn was the Engineering Department Head, he had me build a ghost program that looked so insignificant that it would be looked over. It's titled as an ice cream recipe under the NOC's mess cooks menu program."

"You got to be kidding." Rhodes said with a touch of sarcasm.

Willis brought up the program and let Theron look over it. "It monitors all hits to sensitive programs in the ships networking. Look, they haven't touched anything other than what they are working on. Not even one peep. I'm not so sure I would be so honest if I were in their shoes."

Theron took a better look. He then looked for any signs of false data by the time stamp of activation keys. Nothing unusual. "Wow. You are right." He looked at Willis, "These guys are almost too good to be true."

"Now, if only they can fix that squeaky re-loader in the torpedo room." sad Willis

Theron smiled at Warrant Officer's humor, then looked slightly down and a little more serious. "I guess I cannot shake the fear that they are setting us up." Looking at the Willis to Stark, "I need you guys to be always vigilant and scrutinize their work."

Lt. Rhodes walked away from the Impulse Control Room to the security office. By the time he sat down at this desk. Within an a couple hours later he received a message that informed him that all repairs had taken place on the Impulse systems. He would have normally said that he didn't believe it, if he had not earlier seen the repair work for himself. The repairs to the hull had also been completed. He was just waiting on the Nacelle repair team to notify him. The last report was that it would be completed by the end of the day. Absolutely incredible.
