Abbey was still getting used to the ship and the crew, her dad had pretty much tried introducing her to everyone something seemed completely different in him. She was currently sat in the Science labs running through some Academy exam papers and simultaneously running random tests when she head the doors swish open. Considering she had been assigned Gamma shift she found it odd.

Pausing what she was doing she proceeded towards the main lobby of the labs where she was met with an Orion female "Hey" She said plainly waving her hand and breaking a smile despite her tiredness.

"Yo," Nesh gave a weak salute towards the girl, watching her for a moment. Nesh was bored. Beyond belief. Bored, bored, bored of science, bored of the ship and oh! Bored. Bored, bored, bored. "Whazzup?"

Abbey shrugged "Not much really just studying and running some tests" She hadn't recognised the other woman straight away so unless this was the Capitan it had to be her Daughter ''What was her name'. "You?" She asked leaning on the counter casually.

"Don't even know..." Nesh said and shook her head. "You look rather new and sparkling...new transfer then?"

She smiled at the comment "Yeah, I transferred from Deep Space five with my dad though he kinda was more thrown into the mess with the whole Borg thing" Back when it was happening Abbey was defiantly the definition of an emotional wreck but now she knew he was alive and well and in fact they shared the same ship she couldn't have been happier. "You're urm.... Dont tell me"

"Trouble," Nesh filled in with a small smile, picking up a padd and then dropping it down again. "But most call me Nesh."

Abbey laughed "Well Nesh you sound just like the person my dad would say She's trouble Abbey, dont get mixed up with her" She said in her best impersonation of her fathers voice "So I guess we should get along just fine"

"Ouch...your father sounds pretty bad-assed..." Nesh said and smiled weakly. "Saying that, you're prim enough to be a crewman apprentice..."

"Its nothing my dads just a Marine so he thinks he's a bad-ass but really he's more like a big fluffy teddy bear, and as for being crewman apprentice its just something I got from deep space five though I think it was more out of sympathy than actually earning it" She looked at her studies and then back to Nesh "I'd much rather be A. Getting Drunk and B. Spending time with people my own age and not some middle aged officer telling me how to do this and how to do that" Abbey laughed "But of course then there's my dad"

Nesh met her eyes for a long moment, frowning as she considered it. "Wrong place then, if what you want is to be free of people telling you things."

Abbey shrugged "Thats what I want but what I am trying to do is is get my dad out his silly situations of 'life and death' he seems to have a knack for putting himself into them" A Smile of delight spread onto her face "And now one ever tells you what to do. They simply suggest things"

"Suggest indeed..." she said as she shook her head. "My sister is dreadful for telling people off...." she winked, her eyes shining as she let out a breath of somewhat of annoyance but also warmth."No, this isn't exactly the place for me."

"But at least you must get let of for doing things? With you mum being the ships captain and all?" Abbey wondered how cool it would be to just do what you wanted and no one could say anything. Awesome.

"She's my sister," she said and shook her head, laughing. "By the stars, she would flip if she heard you calling her my Mum!"

"Oh!" Abbey giggled as two red patches formed on her cheeks "Sorry I just assumed" She added feeling somewhat embarrassed by the comment. "The gist still remains the same though? Having your sister as the captain must mean you get away with murder!"

"Hardly!" she laughed as she shook her head, her eyes gentle at the words. "She is a hard arse."

"Oh really? I cant imagine anyone being that bad not even my dad is! and he's well bit of a spoil sport!" She joked as the timer behind her alarmed causing her to jump. Reacting quickly she removed the smouldering sample from the air tight seal and sighed "Damn it!"

Nesh grimaced, moving to her side to watch. "Is it meant to do that?" she asked carefully.

Abbey sighed as she moved over to the reclimater "No, not at all" She pressed the console and the messy burnt sample disappeared in a flash of shimmering light "Never mind it was only a small project of mine" She admitted looking back towards Nesh.

Nesh met her eyes before smiling weakly. "You know, a milkshake will make that feel better," she pointed out. "Lime is my favourite."

Looking behind her and back to Nesh "You know what, A Milkshake sounds like a great idea!" She quickly spun around turning off her things and picking up her bracelets of the hook above the simulator and putting them over her hand and settling them onto her wrist.

Nesh smiled as she nodded, walking with her as she arched an eyebrow. "You know, I love something sweet and cold like that..."

Abbey nodded walking alongside the Orion female "Yeah, I cant remember the last time I actually had one. It was probably back on Earth now I think about it!" in her voice you could tell she was excited.

She nodded as she walked with Abbey, with a small smile. "I like to call them my lunch."

Abbey raised her eye brow "your lunch? It's not really much of a lunch" she pointed out.

"Oh, you haven't seen what I eat all the time anyway...I like food," Nesh said as she shrugged. "And I constantly eat."

She shook her head as if to disagree, "I can not believe that, A figure like yours" She added with a smile "If I ate all the time I'd'd probably burst" She giggled.

"High metabolism," she said and to Abbey, shaking her head as well as she moved through. "Very high, it's the Orion way."

"That suck's If eat anything more than a slice of cake ill put on weight! You're so lucky!" She said enthusiasticly. "So you're obviously a woman with good taste being an orion and all, what are the guys like on the ship?"

"They're annoying and boring," she said and shook her head, meeting her eyes. "I wouldn't waste my time."

Abbey thought for a moment catching the eyes of the Orion female "And what about me? Should I waste my time or is there something else to do around here?"

"I am sure there's some you could figure out. As for me, I am just a bit too young to go searching for guys," Nesh said bluntly, meeting her eyes. "Lirha would kill me. And I would most likely kill them."

After a moment while longer Abbey walked first into the Mess hall and proceeded straight to the replicater scanning the room for an empty table. "Pretty quiet in here today" She noted as most but a couple of tables were empty.
