ON:

As Lt. Rhodes approached the area where the Armory was located, he slowed because of a sound he heard. He did not quite recognize what it would be in relation to the weapons stored there. He approached cautiously.

Mormont was smiling, standing close to Stark, one arm wrapped around him as he whispered in his ear. They were both tired and worn...but Amon wanted to cheer the other man up. The sound Rhodes had heard was them chuckled to themselves. "See, if I knew you'd be that sexy under attack, I would have hired some Klingons to attack..." he whispered to Stark, his eyes playful.

Gabriel watched Amon with shining eyes, grinning as he leant into the arm and the closeness between them. He took a deep breath. They were secure again, the fight was over, they were recovering now after the stress and adrenaline of battle. And it was a relief they were both still alive and themselves. "Or you could attack," he teased.

"Bet you'd love that..." he winked, chuckling as he shook his head. "You were amazing today. Should be proud."

"Give me a rifle and I can do good things," Gabriel smiled, searching his eyes before his gaze drifted to the handsome man's lips instead. He pressed his hand against Amon's broad, strong chest, just feeling it for a moment. "Still, if I can make you think I'm amazing, it must have been a good day's work..."

"All good, if you ask me..." he whispered, watching Gabriel with warm eyes before he heard a noise. He turned, looking at their Chief. "Sir..."

Gabriel cleared his throat and sat back away from Amon quickly when Amon alerted him to the Chief being there. He licked his lips, straightening up. "Sir."

"At ease." Rhodes said casually as he stopped before them. Theron thought it was rather amusing to see the banter between these two. He was sure it was a way to relieve the stress of the situation. He looked to Mormont, "What's our status here?"

"Well, we've burned a lot of weapons on the Borg," he said and smiled gently, watching him. "And we have lost some people. But all in all, not as bad as I thought it would be..." he admitted quietly.

Rhodes sounded confidently, "My understanding is that you held your post and kept the Borg out of the Armory. Something to be proud of."

Rhodes wiped his hand down his face as if in thought, then said, "With these characters adapting to our energy weapons, We may need something a little more basic. We may need something more kinetic to use against them."

Rhodes looked at Stark and then to Mormont, "While you are here, work on some options. Okay?"

"Give me a grenade launcher and I can make anything melt," Gabriel gave an innocent looking smile in comparison to the comment he'd just made.

Rhodes smiled and replied, "That would be a good option. In the mean time, get some food and rest when you can."

"We were planning on it," Mormont said and chuckled weakly, taking a deeper breath. "I at least need some food and kip."

Gabriel nodded with a small smile. "I'll try, Sir," he added too - although in truth, bizarrely, despite how draining it had all been, he felt wired.

Rhodes turned away to check the passageway then turned back and said, "I will send you some ideas to your PADD. See if you can get them replicated for us."

Mormont looked at Gabriel with something close to pride, his eyes warm with it. Stark was getting the hang of it all. And he was inventive. A good trait in any security crewmember.

"Both of you have done well." Rhodes encouraged. "Stay in contact, and I will check on you later." The Chief then turned and walked down the passageway.

"Trust the bleedin' officers to break our moment..." Mormont whispered to Stark and winked, before slapping his back. "You heard him...food and kip."

"Just as well, maybe he stopped me from embarrassing myself, which I was very close to doing," Gabriel whispered with a small smile, watching Mormont's lips for a long moment before hopping up to move off to follow orders.
