Mission: Episode 04 - Exodus
Location: Subjunction 7 - Grid 9-2 - Borg Cube
Timeline: MD03 - 0200hrs

[ON]

New biological specimen acquired. Identified - species 5618 - Human. Limited cranial and regenerative capabilities. Minimal redundancy. Specimen suitable for assigned task. Proceed with assimilation.

A million voices swarmed in his head - a noise unlike any he had heard before, every fibre of his being filled with the voice of a collective whole. One idea, one will, one mind.

Nanoprobes coursed through his bloodstream, infecting every cell it came across, first his blood, then his immune system, and finally his vital organs. Slowly, his body was repurposed, nodes and implants forming throughout his body, interlink nodes, shielding implants, assimilation tubules, each had their place and each growing with every passing second.

His mind was blank, absorbed from the chaos of individuality into the serenity of order. Cleansed of the burdens of free thought, of free will, of freedom absolute.

Drones stood either side of the human, walking him slowly through the maze of corridors that made up this vessel, passing rows of alcoves, rows of drones, empty passages, until eventually, they reached their destination.

The collective will of the drones around him coerced him onto the bench, standing up with his back against the cold metal surface, the drone-in-waiting felt the cold metal clamps close around his wrists and ankles, as slowly he was reclined into a horizontal position.

The drones around him worked with frightening speed, each with a task, fitting implant after implant, removing the tattered remains of his uniform, leaving his organic body naked before them as they mercilessly added technology where once there had been the embrace of his uniform.

It took only moments for the drones to complete their work, and then, there was nothing.

State your identity.

The voices came to him once again, with a tear he fought with all his might to utter that sentence.

"I...I am Commander Jonathan Holliday, First Officer of the USS Galileo"

Irrelevant. Your biological distinctiveness will be added to our own.

"Holliday, Commander, Starfleet Service Number Sierra Tango 512 dash 5204. Born May 18th 2355 to Robert and Claire Holliday. Mars. Sol System."

Irrelevant. Your biological distintiveness will be added to our own.

And with that, his individuality was no more, wiped clean by the Collective, thrown aside like a ship on stormy seas, lost to the ages.

State your identity.

"We are Legatus of Borg."
