Mission: Episode 04 - Exodus
Location: USS Galileo: Deck 4 - Sickbay
Timeline: MD 02 0830

ON:

Dea tried to avoid medical as much as possible but she couldn't avoid it this time as she needed some sleep. At the moment the exact cause eluded her, maybe it was a combination of things. Entering sickbay she looked around for a moment wondering whether she should wait or just go and come back later.

Allyndra was just finishing up on her pet project in the medical lab. The scissors had some problem with the template reading and she would have to look into the exact reason at some other time. Right now there were other things to catch up on, sleep sounded good as did a nice deep mug of sythol blood wine before the allure of the mattress. She had to go back through main sickbay and as she entered she noted someone looking around just inside the doors. She stepped in and before one of the other personnel could intervene said, "Hello, may I help you?"

"Ahh....yeah..." Dea pulled her thoughts back to the present sounding a bit distracted. "Dea Mialin, Chief Flight Control Officer," she introduced herself properly. "I've been trying to get through this without a visit like here, however my attempt to deal with the insomia by other methods isn't working and I need a good night's sleep."

"Pleased, Allyndra," Allyndra replied and then went to the problem. She nodded her head toward one of the beds to indicate to move that way. There was no reason to be discussing a person's medical problems in the middle of the sickbay.

"What is bringing on the insomnia since I have not had a chance to review your file, has it been diagnosed?"

Dea nodded and followed Allyndra, "I have a few ideas but so far it hasn't been officially diagnosed. Recent events are bringing back some less than pleasant memories for me. That and my whole department has been extra busy with our recent planetary survey." Briefly she paused then continued, "As far as memories I mentioned. If you get a chance to read Galileo's mission records you'll see we ended up crash landing. I was responsible for allowing many of us to survive even though we lost people. However its safe to say the recent rescue mission for Venture's crew triggered something at least that's the only thing that makes sense right now. Of course it could be a combo of things I don't know for sure."

Allyndra pursed her lips. She wanted to eliminate that there was an underlying organic cause but this sounded more tied to stress and emotion.
"Have you been seeing one of the Counselors?" she asked. Allyndra could prescribe something but before she did it always helped to attack the underlying causes.

"Initially after the crash we were required to. Things had been really good. But I came her first because I want to make sure I'm not missing another reason for this."

"I see, well then, if you do not mind, hop on up here and let get a scan and if you do not mind. While that is going let me get PADD with your medical record."

Dea climbed onto the biobed. For the moment she didn't say much waiting for the Doctor to return. One way or another her goal was to get to the bottom of this issue.

Allydnra started the scan and did as she had mentioned and downloaded Dea's medical file into a PADD so she could peruse it. It was obvious that she could eliminate the obvious things of high blood pressure, asthma, heart problems, the such. If organic that left hyperthyroidism and hormonal changes.

Trying to relax while she waited for the scan to be complete. She hoped there was an easy solution to this issue since Dea needed to be able to perform at her peak ability.

Allyndra took a look at the scan and she did not see any signs of hypothyroidism and there was no record in the Lieutenant's medical background. She did note that some of the hormonal balances seemed to off.

"Your joined correct?"

Dea nodded, "That is correct Doctor. is something wrong with the symbiont?"

"No, no, everything checks out there just your isoboramine levels seem a little lower than normal. I am thinking that your insomnia is because the symbiont is having a little more trouble communicating, like someone trying to whisper in your ear constantly."

"Let's hope so," Mialin commented. "Any idea what could cause those levels to be low?" During her last physical there had been no sign of any issues. As it was both Dea's unique situation could be considered a medical miracle by some standards.

"That may be the harder question to answer. It could be a combination of the stress you mentioned earlier combined with natural hormone changes. If it was a lot more severe I would definitely investigate further but let's see how bringing up your isoboramine levels goes and combine that with maybe some relaxation alright?"

Dea nodded in response to Allyndra's suggestion, "Yeah that sounds like a good plan. I'm hoping to relax a bit while we have a bit of downtime. Experience has taught me to take advantage of it when we have it." Her expression was one of total sincerity.

Allyndra smiled and prepared the neurotransmitter booster. "I quite understand. Now then, little press." She said as she pushed the hypo to the Trill's arm.

"I think that will do it but how about a check up in forty eight hours time to see how things are going?"

Sitting up on the biobed, Dea then climbed off it. "Thank you Doctor. Yes I'll check back in forty eight hours." Now that she knew what the problem was she didn't want to let it get out of hand.

"very good. Have a good day and it was a pleasure to meet you."

Dea nodded to Allyndra, "It was a pleasure to meet you as well Doctor." With that out of the way she turned to leave sickbay.
