After applying a fresh coat of marinade, a series of orange flames shot up and licked the tender flesh of the large cuts of steak which were simmering on the grill, sending a delicious sizzling cloud of smoke into the air which also tantalized Lirha's nostrils. She repositioned the filets on the opposite side of the coals where the temperature was less hot, then put the tongs down and turned around to Nesh. "I hope you are hungry." she teased with a sideways grin, realizing that she had put a very generous amount of meat on the grill...probably too much for just the two Orion women.

Behind Nesh, the fresh ocean waves lapped against the pebbled shore and sent a cool salt water breeze against her body. Her bare and exposed green toes wiggled into the warm of the sand beneath the afternoon sun, and she readjusted the dark brown shoulder straps of her bikini to keep them from digging into her shoulders. It was as pleasant a holodeck experience as she had ever had in the past few years, made even all the better with her sister nearby.

"Starving," Nesh said, stretching her legs out. She wore short shorts and a top rather than bikini. She was still developing after all and a bit awkward with herself at times. "So...what's the reason behind this, sis? I mean...you rarely take time off to do this sort of thing..." she teased, biting her lip.

Lirha shrugged, not really sure how to answer. "I was here about a week ago with your teacher, Anera. Well, not this same beach...it was another one on Vajripam...but I very much enjoyed my time there. There is something very liberating and relaxing about the vastness of oceans. It reminds me of space, as strange as that sounds." she replied while she wandered over next to Nesh and sat down, still staring at the crystal blue waves.

Nesh arched an eyebrow at that before sighing. "Another one of your...friends then? She kept that quiet..." she said as she lay back, closing her eyes. "What did you two do then, on a beautiful beach?"

A soft chuckle escaped Lirha's lips. She knew what Nesh was referring to, but decided to play it off in a casual manner. "Yes, we are just friends. We ate some food and talked...about many different things. She and I are very similar in certain ways. Her people - Deltans - are not well-represented in Starfleet just like Orions, and we compared some of our experiences working with Humans and other various races. And we talked about our homeworlds, and how they were similar yet also very different." she shrugged again, thinking back on the pleasant evening she had spent with the teacher.

"But in case you were wondering," she continued, "I have another friend now. A girlfriend, actually." Lirha grinned at her little sister who she thought should be happy for her that she had finally managed to find someone to settle down with.

Nesh's eyes opened and she pushed herself up, watching her with surprise. "You have a girlfriend? Who is she? What does she do? Where is she?" she asked, smiling at that. She...was actually happy. She hadn't wanted to say it, but she had been a bit worried about her sister getting what she needed. Not...in that way. But emotionally. Because Nesh had started to understand that even grown ups needed those emotional things that kept them happy.

"Her name is Siren. Siren Hex. She is a crewman in the Intelligence department...a very beautiful one, at that." she answered as her thoughts drifted to the young red-head's attractive features and curvy body. "I am not sure what she is up to at the moment...would you like me to contact her and see if she wants to join us?" she offered.

Nesh nodded as she looked at her, laughing. "She has to meet my approval before you two shack up together, Lirha! So bring her in her, get her here so I can put her thrust all the tests that younger siblings do..."

The older Orion smirked then reached behind her and briefly rummaged through her small beach bag, finally retrieving her commbadge. Giving it a gentle tap, she spoke into the small Starfleet emblem. "Saalm to Hex...are you busy right now, Siren?"

=^= Hm? =^= Siren's voice over the comm was distracted for a moment before she suddenly seemed to click back to reality. =^= Oh! No, nothing that can't wait. Why? You need a hand to squeeze in another scary film? =^= she teased fondly, the smile easy to hear in her voice.

Lirha's eyes went soft and she smiled at the recent memories of the horror film they watched. "Perhaps a bit later. Right now I am in the holodeck cooking dinner and wanted to invite you to join me - I mean," she paused as she glanced over at Nesh, "us, for a meal and maybe some swimming. My sister is with me and she would very much like to meet you..." she replied over the comm.

=^= I... =^= there was a pause, but just for a moment. =^= Sure, give me a sec, and I'll be right there. =^=

"Excellent, I will see you soon." Lirha replied with enthusiasm, happy to hear that Siren was able to join her and her sister. She casually placed her commbadge back in her bag, not wanting it to disturb the rest of her holodeck evening.

Nesh chuckled as she watched her, sighing. "Now this will be interesting...she better be cool, okay?"

Siren finally moved into the holodeck, looking around with a smile. Meeting the sister. It was pretty nerve wracking actually. She wore a wrap around short skirt with a black vest, her swim suit under it. Her red hair was loose, but scooped back on one side with a clip at her temple. "Now something smells delicious..."

Nesh was standing by the food, watching Siren closely. She took her in, studied how she was dressed, how she moved. Pretty. Human. Pale skin too. And the red hair. She ran her eyes over her, letting out a breath. She was sexy. But she was looking forward to seeing how she was as a person. "That would be Lirha's perfume."

Watching Siren enter the holodeck dressed in her usual black attire, Lirha quietly and contently let her eyes play over the woman's attractive figure. She had an alluring glow about her, one which made Lirha's heart skip a beat and brought a warm smile to her gold lips. "Welcome." she said as she stood up and walked over to her, then wrapped her bare green arms around her neck and gave her a soft kiss on the lips. "I am glad you could join us. The other green woman over there is Nesh, my sister." she teased as she gestured with her eyes towards her little sister.

Siren smiled warmly, stealing a soft kiss from the curve of her neck before looking across to Nesh, her arm wrapping around Lirha's waist. She could see the resemblance, but the younger girl was slighter, more petite, as would be expected. They had some beautiful genes in their family, that was for sure. "Hi, Nesh, I'm Siren. Enlisted, not posh officer style like your big sister," she winked.

Nesh nodded, studying her before narrowing her eyes slightly. "You two are very hands on...considering you're meeting me for the first time..." she said before she relaxed and laughed. "Sorry, just messing with you. It's nice to see you. Lirha here didn't tell me about you until now so...at least I get to meet you on the same day."

Siren had watched her with wide eyes at the first words but relaxed when she appeared to let up. She laughed softly, shaking her head as she let out a breath of relief. She didn't really know what to expect. People talked about how new girlfriends and boyfriends were never good enough for the family. On the other hand, she didn't have a family so she had no idea what to expect apart from what other people said about it. "I'm not gatecrashing, am I?"

"Nope...Lirha has way too much food here anyway," Nesh said and moved to sit down. "So, how did you two meet? Details!"

Tilting her head as she tried to recall the exact circumstances, Lirha finally remembered their first casual meeting in the mess hall over a week ago. "I believe we met during lunch in the mess." she recalled. "Siren was nice enough to join me while I was enjoying some crab rolls."

"And I stole half the food off her plate," Siren laughed as she remembered, shaking her head as colour reached her pale cheeks at the recollection. "I just can't help myself. I'm weak. To food, I mean," she added the last quickly, clearing her throat.

Lirha reached down to the side of her waist where Siren was holding her and gently squeezed the woman's hand. She was very happy she had showed up on short notice, and every moment she spent around her made her feel warm and comfortable. It was a welcome break from her daily stresses of command duties, made even more pleasant with Nesh here as well. "Siren has unfortunately not had the chance to sample all of the Alpha and Beta quadrant's delicacies...something which I hope to indulge her with in the near future." she explained as she smiled up at intelligence officer.

Nesh nodded, watching her sister for a long moment before looking down. It felt a bit awkward. More because she was still surprised Lirha hadn't told her the moment she had started seeing Siren. "Well, you can cook up a good spread, that's for sure."

Siren watched Nesh, holding her breath for a moment as well as Lirha's hand. She finally gave a small smile and tilted her head. "You're a Scientist, right?" she'd seen her around. It was sort of her job to notice things. Maybe talking about things on Nesh's ground might put her more at ease.

Nesh smiled at that, nodding as she looked at her. "Scientist's mate. While I am still at school..." she said, taking a breath. She appreciated the effort anyway.

"Nesh wants to be an artist some day," Lirha elaborated for the younger Orion in typical-older-sister fashion, "but right now she can learn some valuable skills by apprenticing in our science department. At least, that is the idea, anyway." she added with a knowing smirk.

"An artist?" Siren repeated with both surprise and interest, looking to Nesh with a wide smile. "Wow. Very different from science. You must be really talented to be able to do both," she said softly with awe, and it was genuine.

Nesh chuckled and shrugged, watching Siren. "I like my art. I'm experimenting with recreating the appearances of cell structures using oil paints on wet canvas..." she said, but carefully. She hadn't told Lirha she was trying new things.

"That is certainly...unique." Lirha managed to reply with a mental grin. For some reason, all she could think of was a set of various cells being depicted in classic caricature form complete with funny looking, humorous faces.

"I'm impressed. Mostly because I have no idea of what you're describing, but that usually means it's something to be impressed by," Siren admitted with a soft laugh, shaking her head.

"Nesh is full of impressive secrets which even I do not understand." Lirha said. "The joys of being young." she added, then took Siren's hand and led her towards the grill. "Dinner should be ready soon, let me show you what I am cooking..."

Siren couldn't stop a soft laugh at that, shaking her head with shining eyes. "Always cooking up something...."
