Galileo day #16

Live Flight Hours: 80
Simulator Hours: 18

Finally!

Live flight! Live Flight! Yes! Yes! Hell's bells its about time! He's a steady little thing. nicely tuned and balanced. Not having to send commands the best part of a a kilometer shows. The helm is fast. The bloody center line is a menace, but I'll live with it, and he accelerates likes a gingered horse. Okay so he's not the fastest, but he cruises smoothly enough, and nine times out of ten that's what's matters with these sort of vessels.

We're about two days out from Celes III. Astrometrics says local space isn't anything exciting so once we're there I guess we're just going to park and do...stuff. Put up shelters? Start a power generator? I have no idea. Watch the robot do its stuff. If it gets boring I guess I can always take Vincenzo to Celes IV and sunbathe for a week. There's a whole bunch of planned system and planetary surveys to do so I'm pretty much going to be living in that waverider for the next six weeks.

I've got a new minion. Well a trainee minion. Someone from the mirror universe. Its an amazing concept. That there are doubles of almost everyone in a parallel world that sounds like a horrible place to live. Everyone talks about it at the academy. its one of those conversations you have at 3 AM before the synthehol wears off. What would you be like in the mirror universe?

I thought about asking her if she'd heard of any of my family it might give me an idea where my mother is, but its probably a waste of time From what I know about the politics there, I'm sure my mother would never have met my father, ergo, no me. On the other hand, its nice to know that on the otherside of some invisible barrier I'm not some psycho sadist or dodgy backstreet type. There's just one me, and thats me. No complications. Always be yourself.

Unless you can be a pirate. Then always be a pirate.

Yo-ho.
