Allyndra did not want to put what she was about to talk about into the medical log since the conversation with Holiday and the Admiral had been so neatly deleted. Hopefully no one would note the rather lengthy gap in what seemed to be otherwise routine.

"Well it is done, the procedure that is. At least the mother and baby appear to be doing alright. Time will tell on that front. It is too bad though that we could not officially put a note in about it as it would probably have proven to be quite a paper considering the extensive replacement of genes.

The donor did not fair it would appear quite so favourably. There were some problems but in the end we so far have not actually physically lost anyone. While I would have preferred to keep a much closer eye on mother and baby, such a thing would prove to be unusual.

Already there seems to many that the idea is problematic though I still insist that we were not trying to enhance and make some sort of super being but only to correct defective genes.

At least I did not have to call for a Fold Ship and that would have introduced even more questions and inquires and certainly I would have had the Council looking for my head.

As it is sooner or later, such as what we put away will have to come forward. Dangerous yes, but I can see danger for being so unprepared as well. We have almost forgotten too much.

Well, that is for another day as is the ultimate fate of mother and baby or rather fetus. So many ways all things could have gone wrong so ultimately things could have been worse.

End log"
