Admiral's Log, Stardate 67818.9

Standard maintenance continues aboard Galileo while we are docked at port. I have been informed by the dockmaster that repairs to our primary and secondary deflector arrays will take no more than a week, which is a feat of itself and mostly due to the work of our own crew to repair the damaged systems 'on the fly'. But as much competence as the engineers on our ship demonstrate, there always seems to be someone at spacedock who feels they can perform the same duties with more...efficiency. Or Precision. I cannot remember keep track of the excuses, really.

While final repairs and restocking is underway, I was summoned to Starfleet headquarters in San Fransisco for a lengthy debriefing of our Mirror Universe adventures. Aside from turning over all available data and sensor records of our adventure, Starfleet nevertheless insisted upon a detailed debriefing interview. I explained as much as I could about our perceptions of Terran and Klingon-Cardassian relations, but it seems there is much still left unknown. Much to the chagrin of Starfleet, of course. After all, we are the first vessel to have entered the parallel universe in close to 20 years.

All administrative functions aside, we seem well-prepared to embark upon our next deployment. New officers and NCOs have been assigned to Galileo and seem to be acclimating themselves to our vessel. Our new orders are...well, somewhat standard yet also unorthodox. Colony settlement supervision is usually under the jurisdiction of the Starfleet Operations, but it seems we -- in the Planetary Science Division -- have been tasked with assisting this time around.

The senior staff briefing begins shortly, and I hope to explain the details of our assignment to everyone. And I hope it will go as smoothly as our Exeter presentation.

Computer, end log.
