Na'henah M'ahane

Posted on 28 Oct 2015 @ 6:34pm by Lieutenant Commander (La'Hom) Gerrin illm Warraquim

238 words; about a 1 minute read

"Record log" The words came out harsh but there was emotion behind them that belied the harshness.

[Recording]

"So here am I amoung the barbarians yet again. Of course, perhaps no more than we were and somewhat still are. I can not help but wonder if this nature to be red in tooth and claw is but our fate.

Perhaps it is the artist in me, or the artist that once was. It seems as if I have lost that wonder, that expression of that gentler and nobler expression that sets almost all those cultures above their brutal nature.

Perhaps though it is still the thought of my lost love that has put me on this path. She saw the portrait but I do not think she ever heard the words that I said after she took flight.

They haunt me still but in some respects now that I think upon them and where I am at they bring me a measure of longing joy.

Ho'ia'oe Ma'halihua Malik'ae

May breezes blow gently
May fair winds guide you
May the God protect you and guide you
And return you safely to shore

Perhaps, a breeze, a wind, the hands of the gods will again return you to me, to the safety of the shore and my arms.

L'ahena Ahenai A'ioni'moah

Good night my love"
