Encrypted Recorded Transmission to Admiral Jones; ISS Vengeance

Subject: Nevedno Loz

Status: Subject Missing; Program Terminated

A recording started on a computer viewed by one. The voice was quiet and monotone, as though reading its own epitaph:

"It is of my sincerest regrets to inform you, admiral, that subject Nevedno Loz has escaped despite the various countermeasures implemented. All the lab staff was terminated including twelve well-trained guards and weapons where taken. Our only lead was the single shuttle that was missing that we tracked down to Outpost 176. By the time we got there numerous ships had both arrived and departed. We shut down all ship movement in the entire sector in an effort to reacquire the subject as soon as the missing shuttle was discovered, but after two weeks of fruitless searching I can say with near certainty that the subject will most likely never be seen by anyone again.

"Omega Plan for the program has been implemented. All data of the subject's existence has been destroyed as well as any record of the tests and experiments on the subject. After this transmission all remaining knowledge of the program will be delt with accordingly. With all viable materials already destroyed during the subjects escape I can say with certainty that the experiment has been an absolute failure." The voice pauses in a moment of genuine, frightened humanity. The voice trembles as it continues to speak. "He even killed his own offspring. His own flesh and blood. All of them. There is nothing left to study. Nothing left of him. There has been no transfer of pheromone production to any other agent of any other species and without a functioning gland to study it is now impossible to further attempt.

"With the augmentations the subject is now more than invisible. He no longer exists. With the pheromones effects now being instantaneous there is nothing that can ever be done to detect him aside from extraordinary and unknown as of this point measures. Nothing that can be implemented on such a wide scale at least. The countermeasure injections only worked for hours at best and there is no way the materials can be made available to all personnel throughout the galaxy. Especially not without the program being discovered.

"Psychological analysis indicates high likelihood of suicide. This is all we can hope for. The corpse would be disposed of and the last of his wretched species eliminated as the rest of them. The possibility of another horrid creature such as what we have created nothing but a dream, or a nightmare.

"The scientists have been disposed of. All those knowing of the program terminated. The data erased. All remaining materials have been destroyed. As planned, after this final transmission I will terminate myself and destroy the rest of the laboratory." The voice pauses once more, another offering of human emotion in its final minutes of existence. "If I may be so bold as to suggest it, I would say you do the same, sir. To live in a world where such a monster exists is to never sleep well again. To never trust anything...

"End of report, sir. Goodbye, and good luck."

--End Transmission--

The computer went silent. What lay before it was the exsanguinated body of a Terran Empire admiral, his throat opened wide by an invisible blade. Moments later and the computer was gone, no doubt vaporized by the energy of an unseen phaser held by an unknown hand.

A slow, maniacal chuckle could be heard by no one but the originator. The subject. Nevedno Loz. With the final nail in the proverbial coffin he had now become dead to the universe. Truly alone. A twisted figment amongst more corporeal beings.
