Captain Jonathan Holliday reporting.

This log entry is being transcribed to my commbadge transponder - Starfleet reference code Sierra 4742 Alpha in accordance with protocol during periods of extreme peril or risk.

The Galileo has found itself on the far side of a gravimetric anomaly. Main power is offline and secondary generators have failed to engage. As we speak, the ship is functioning on minimal emergency power with little more than basic life support currently available to us.

I have dispatched teams to multiple locations aboard the ship in an effort to regain some degree of power, I can only hope that Engineering survived the ride and are working on a similar priority schedule from their end of the ship.

Should we fail to restore main power before the battery reserves run out, I will have no choice but to order the crew to abandon ship. Unfortunately without any active sensor arrays, we are unable to pinpoint our location in space, and as such finding a suitable destination is impossible. For all we know we could be in orbit of a planet, or we could be in the void between universes.

Either way, the Galileo will become a lifeless hulk, and we simply refugees flung into the sea of space. I hope that this doesn't happen obviously, but in the event that we do not survive, I want it known that the crew served with valour and dignity right up until the end. She is a good ship, with a good crew, and we'll either get back on our feet, or die trying.

End log.
