Admiral's Log, Stardate 67546.1

We have arrived at the designated coordinated for the annual NIMBUS exercises...albeit a few hours behind schedule. The passage was uneventful and it seems all of our officers and crew were able to use the time to familiarize themselves with their new starships and duties. Captain Holliday, in particular, seems to feel at home aboard USS Chronos. I suspect she is the command he always wanted, in one capacity or another. Commanders Stace, Blake, and Markos also seem to be content, at least to my knowledge. It is often a very exciting experience to be given the opportunity to command an entire starship, even if it is a temporary command, and I hope they will enjoy their time in the center seat once the exercises begin.

First, however, we are obligated to several diplomatic functions with our Klingon Defense Force friends. Upon arrival at the Chi'Dan sector, we were greeted by General JataQ and his task group, and I extended our hospitality by offering several tours of our starships. I think, for most Klingon captains, such an experience is to be valued, and it is not everyday they get the chance to step foot aboard Starfleet's newest vessels and see our technology at work.

Three of General JataQ's captains -- and also he himself -- well be transporting aboard Galileo, Chronos, Nautilus, and Atlas within the hour. I do hope the functions proceed without incident. There are still some of those in Starfleet who retain a dislike for Klingons, and the same could be said for the Empire's view of Starfleet. Old prejudices seem to die hard. I just hope we are more diplomatic this time than we were with the Cardassians at Lyshan III.

Computer, end log.
