"Well it has been interesting to be out of the sickbay and back into the Command chair. I have not done that since the Firebird seemingly ages ago. Thankfully as far as the exercise goes it is only just that a test nothing serious.

We shall see how things progress and I must say that I am thrilled that the Science department has taken on the idea presented of detecting a cloaked ship. Such thoughts both thrill me and yet disturb me in way.

I have talked to a Counselor before but still it haunts me that my personal life is one of bad luck or did the Council see something more of the A'ksu within me and thought to ensure that such a thing was not passed on?

I cannot totally rule out the later but perhaps a copy of the recording of whatever transpires within these games will change a bit of outlook. While I do not advocate bringing back the A'ksu in their entirety, we need to be more prepared than we have allowed ourselves.

I believe the Counsel has long forgotten that there is a wide galaxy out here and not all are willing to leave us alone. While the A'ksu of old gifted us with some terrible weapons and devices, and they can be brought forth in times of need, once revealed I cannot see how we might be forced to build upon all that and right now we do not have enough of those that make that intuitive leap.

A repetition of the past is certainly something we wish to avoid but before another mistake is made and we dilute the gene too far perhaps that would be as big a mistake as well.

I know they will think it is my own biological imperative for this warning but if there is that part of the A'ksu still within me, then perhaps like the machines of old it should be preserved. A warning from the past, but also a warning from the present soon to become the future is at hand.
