[ON]

I file this report from the broom closet that is described as a Ready Room aboard a Defiant class vessel - the USS Chronos.

As part of the ongoing NIMBUS exercises between Starfleet and the KDF, Galileo has been assigned to lead our new task force as the Federation representatives. To facilitate this, myself and several other officers have been reassigned amongst the battle group.

Obviously I was more than a little pleased at the idea of commanding a warship - the combat capabilities of this vessel class are well documented from the Dominion war. However - what the good Admiral Saalm did not make me aware of, is that this particular vessel is little more than a kindergarten with warp engines.

Red Squad - one of my most hated of all the Academy traditions are participating this year, and this vessel is simply stuffed full of them. Thankfully, I have the ever-gruff Mr Quinn aboard as my XO - if there's one thing he knows, it's how to knock ballsy cadets down a peg or two - I will certainly be leaning on him throughout this mission.

For now, I look forward to seeing what exactly the Klingons are bringing to this little party - their new battle cloak interests me, or at least the rumours do, as does the effect that the Galileo's new sensor array will have on the mock battles to come.

For the record - I am looking forward to getting my old chair back.

End log.
