Personal Log #4

Posted on 30 Jun 2012 @ 11:43pm by Command Master Chief Markum Quinn

236 words; about a 1 minute read

So today I spoke with my dear friend Torin, who is assigned to the USS Sarek as its Chief Engineer. It would appear that his cloaking device was acting irregular. Funny that he would contact me on such things. the man is a genius, he holds two, or is it three doctorates. I haven't even finished with my first. Anyways, it was an easy enough fix for the old man. I remember when he came aboard the Thor as a greenhorn e3nsign, fresh from the Academy. He was still older than the rest of us by at least two decades...maybe more. The poor guy lost everything in a tragic fire, including his family. Family.

The very word of family recently has had a different meaning to me. I have a family, I have parents, siblings, even an old hunting dog back on the ranch in Idaho. I inherited my Uncles cabin, land, and the entire range and the horses and hands as well. I even have a son that is my pride and joy, and I love dearly. All these things I have, but yet, something is still missing. Tarishiana. My beloved. I have been contemplating something for a while now, I just have not had the courage, or the timing, to go through with it. Perhaps once we complete this mission we will have some leave time that we can enjoy.

End Log.
