Chief Engineer's Log, Stardate :: Three Hundred and Two.

... So, I apparently missed my birthday somewhere down the line. Luka's message didn't arrive in my box until many days after he had sent it. I have no idea what he's doing right now, or even if he's still on the Fargo really. Last time we had a chat, he mentioned a transfer to a colony of all places. He was going to be in charge, which is a giant endeavor for a kid like him.

I don't think he's ready, but he's always been one to prove me wrong.

Birthday, though. Thirty-one. I managed to survive another year without getting my face shot off, or auctioned off as a slave by some non-Federation race. Cheers to me.

If I thought I could make it over in time, I would be back on Earth and checking up on Dad. Not possible, and not likely to get a response at all. I keep sending messages over, now that we have full control of systems, but it's likely I'm not going to get anything back until they have a definitive answer. I should probably ask if Iresine is genetic, see if I could end up with it in my sixties. This assumes I make it that far.

At least this shore leave, I'll end up on the ship. The tribbles may have been thrown out of the Gal, but her systems aren't fully functional. If we want to install the deflector array in a timely fashion, I should stay behind and tinker with what I can. Maybe I'll get Grayson to help me out on that. We didn't get much time to get to know each other, and this'll be the perfect opportunity.

I think that should be it? I've never really liked these things.
