Log #1

315 words; about a 2 minute read

Sitting up on her bed, T'Vanna glanced over to the little crib that was placed beside her bed, then touched the record button on the PADD she'd been given.

"Computer, insert startate upon saving personal log," she started, then continued with a smile. "I still can't believe it. I never thought I'd be giving birth so soon, well over a week prior to my due date."

She paused, reaching to pull up the blanket a little over the peacefully sleeping baby. "I arrived here on the Galileo just barely two days ago, and I had the pleasure of meeting my new XO, as well as my immediate boss though I'm not sure whether I'd classify that as a pleasant experience. The woman is...cold...even colder and more disinterested in anything than what I've come to believe people expect of Vulcans."

She sighed, shaking her head. "I think I made a few friends too, most notably one of the doctors who helped in the delivery, and a scientist....of who the appearances are very deceptive. He looks barely eightteen but boy is he more ancient than I am. He's seventy-five or so he said, I can't really remember, and well...he's quite adorable I must add."

T'Vanna watched the baby stir. "Anyway, I have a daughter and I've named her Emmaline, and as second name Tuula, in honour of the doctor who helped deliver her. I still have many people to see...the chief counselor, chief medical officer and I've actually not seen the commanding officer either. So...I'll be quite busy the next few days. Oh! And I have a very...accomodating roommate who offered to help me out with my baby. We'll see...most men are quite...apprehensive when it comes to another woman's baby."

She watched Emmaline yawn. "End log," she said, then reached for her child and prepared to feed her.
