Personal log - 020 - Linked for Life

ON:

The security training is going well. Senior Chief Wyatt has had the Teams on the Holodeck on a regular basis the last several days with different scenarios to prepare us for the upcoming mission on Lyshan III . There is no certainty that there will be violence or even a riot by the miners, but this is what is necessary to prepare for any contingency.

On a lighter note, I received a written message from by brother Stephon. I do not usually get messages from my Stephon. It is quite odd, that since our 3rd year at the Academy, he became more and more distant. We use to be able to share anything with each other. Being twins we had been our own best friend as far back as I could remember. But now . . . I just get short messages, with no personal connotation to them.

His new assignment is aboard the USS Asgard. It is a small Norway Class Starship. I have read several good reports, yet the most recent one was about a shake up in the senior officers at the Embassy Command. A couple senior officer have taken over the Embassy positions. I can only guess that this left a vacuum and they brought Stephon in to fill the gap.

The short message that I received from Stephon was direct and to the point. It almost seemed Cryptic. I just do not understand him anymore.

He did mention that he had passed through the Tandar Sector and stopped to visit with Mom and Dad on Tandar Prime. They seem to be doing well. Our younger sister, Cassiopeia, is engaged to be Linked with some stiff shirted Legalist. She could have at least found an Advocate; a much more dignified profession. In any case, the Linkage will take place in almost a cycle from now. I hope to ask for leave at that time and attend the ceremony.

I am not sure if I will ever be Linked. I am not sure if I will find a mate that sees the universe the way I do. I do hope the best for Cassiopeia. I will more than likely get in contact with her by sub-space before we arrive at our mission destination.
