Chief of the Boat's Log, Supplemental:

We have rescued several crew members from the Borg ship, and even managed to acquire some of their technology. Unfortunately, not all were able top be saved, as the Borg implants had already transformed them too far. Many of my enlisted crew were lost between the battle and the implants. I have just begun to send out hand written notes of condolences to each of the lost crewmen's family and will transfer them to the Captain for her's and the XO's signature as well.

I have lost people before as a Chief Engineer, but this time it was different. Maybe because it was the Borg, and I don't have just a Department full of crew to be responsible for, but rather all the enlisted on board.

*audible sigh heard along with the snap of a bottled beer being opened.*

So, a year at sea and we have managed not to blow the old girl up, no matter how hard we have tried. I know that I'm not the Chief Engineer anymore, but this ships engines and the entire spaceframe of this vessel I know like the back of my hand and I still feel like it's my responsibility to get us back home under our own power. Luckily for us, the new Chief Engineer is much smarter than I will ever be and has new ideas. I trust him completely. I just remember that first walk through with just the few of us original crew. Only a couple of us a re left from then.

I will....sign off now. I need to do a walk through of the ship and see where I can be of some use, and check on my enlisted crew.

End Log.
