First Officer's Personal log,

We have completed our final survey missions within the Rojar system and are currently en route to meet up with our Galaxy-class escort, the USS Venture in preparation for our return to Federation space.

The mission has been a little slow for my liking - I am not used to these more scientifically-inclined missions, and I am a little disappointed that with all the talk of danger and risk in these farflung star systems that we did not come across any trouble whatsoever.

I am fully expecting our meeting with the Venture to occur on time, and our return to Federation space to be uneventful to say the least. However, this has given me sufficient time to catch up on the mountain of paperwork that built up during Captain Saalm's absence these past few days. Commanding a ship is one thing, commanding a ship with no XO is another.

We are scheduled to arrive at our rendezvous point in a few hours, so I think some rest would be the most sensible use of this downtime.

End log.
