"Personal log, Ensign Varek, stardate 67339.3

"No events of note regarding yesterday's schedule. I did, however, encounter Petty Officer Watt while on duty. He insisted that he had a headache. I attempted to be personable and suggested that it was 'all in his head,' but he found this statement amusing. He also engaged me in conversation. I find him only mildly interesting, but he did express a fascination with the idea that a vulcan should join Starfleet under my circumstances, which is a fair evaluation. I fail to understand his insistence that I ought to study human culture more by involving myself in social activities. It is an interesting idea that I may consider, but it is unlikely I shall take an interest in his suggestions, which included such base ideas as a visit to Risa and 'getting hung over.' I will not be contacting him as he suggested.

"Today I am assigned to away missions rather than my normal duties. However, at 0735 hours I will go to check the prepared medkits for away missions today. Lieutenant Meridian's questionable organizational skills potentially require my intervention.

"At 0815 hours, breakfast and meditation. At 1000 hours, I will make my own preparations for my away mission assignments. I must arrange for a case of supplies to be aboard the atmospheric shuttle and I must prepare my own medical kits.

"At 1048 hours, sickbay until 1155. At 1200 hours, survey team of Rojar II R1. 1600 hours, atmospheric survey of Rojar II R2. 2000 hours, return to Galileo. 2004 hours, dinner and meditation. At 2154, bed.

"End log."
