Captain's Log, Stardate 69382.1

"Galileo's return to Regula I two days ago was uneventful as expected. Our Klingon colleagues aboard IKS Praxis have gone their own way to pursue whatever warrior adventures await them, which has left the crew and I with some time to investigate a new ongoing ailment affecting many of us. I won't mince words...many crew members have reported experiencing recurring hallucinations - visions - of some sort. They appear grounded in a semblance of reality but are portraying an alternate viewpoint of this ship's historical events. Past, current or present happenings? I have no idea. I've experienced several of these myself and they're disconcerting...to put it lightly.

"I've instructed the crew to make records of these illusions to the best of their ability while the science, operations and medical departments approach this investigation from their respective areas of expertise. If this turns out to be a computer problem, a viral infection or even a temporal event as theorized, we'll find out soon enough. I retain confidence in this crew despite my own counter-opinions and I trust them to apply the correct analytical skills necessary to solve this.

"Lastly, the transport vessel Yuron recently arrived and personnel transfers are almost finished. Commander Blake, Lieutenant Rice and several other NCOs' reassignments will be felt throughout the ship. But this is the lifestyle we signed up for as Starfleet personnel and the price we all have to pay. There's no shortage of qualified officers aboard Galileo and I expect our new crew additions will bring us back to full operational efficiency before orders come down from Command for our next deployment.

"For now, we have a lot to accomplish within a short time frame. Further log updates will be entered as new information presents itself.

"Computer, end log."
