Captain's Log, Stardate 69376.0

"Galileo's systems test was completed without incident and the ship is currently soft-docked at Regula I. All primary and auxiliary networks are fully operational...though we did suffer a few fused plasma relays during the warp run-up. Engineering anticipates repairs should be completed soon, and our operational readiness hasn't been affected.

"Strangely, short-range sensors detected a concentration of chroniton particles within the vicinity of our position during the test. A wave, of sorts. Lieutenant Ullswater suspects it to be a 'temporal event', though subsequent scans revealed no further trace particles. In my estimation, the most likely cause of this disturbance was the presence of a cloaked Romulan vessel, therefore I immediately ordered a tachyon scan of the surrounding space. No concealed starships were detected...or anything that could shed light on that momentary existence of chronitons. Further analysis is ongoing while we finish our final work orders and await resupply.

"The transport ship USS Yuron is now 21 hours out from its arrival to Regula I. It's good to see Starfleet finally prioritizing logistical networks feeding this region of space; we've spent too many years out here making due with ration packs and reserve stores when unexpected-but-predictable 'delays' in resupply occurred. Foodstuffs and engineering components aside, I'm looking forward to an influx of personnel. Approximately 25 crew transfers are to be expected on Galileo which will finally bring us to full staffing levels.

"A final note for this report - an addendum: I've altered my decision to delete Cold Station 31's research files and facility logs. I...thought of a guiding principle we Starfleet officers must always adhere to - our duty to the truth. However terrible or uncomfortable that truth might be, it's our moral and ethical responsibility to defend it. Even when every fiber of my being tells me to do the opposite. I hope I won't come to regret this decision, and Starfleet too. I'll begin preparing a full post-investigation package to transmit to Command later this evening.

"Computer, end log."
