Captain's Log, Stardate 94382.9

"The past 24 hours have been...exigent for many of the crew. Myself included. Reduced Power Mode went into effect at approximately 2000 last evening; the holodecks, mess halls, replicators and transporters have been shut down to conserve power, and environmental systems have been reduced to minimum life-support standards. The air is thin and cold, and we're now surviving off ration packs. Turbolift usage has also been restricted which unfortunately makes moving between decks through Jefferies tubes extremely cumbersome. Crew morale certainly hasn't improved under these circumstances but these sacrifices are necessary if we're to complete our mission.

"Lieutenants Vala, Caradec and Valenis continue their investigation but they're running out of time. I estimate they have a little over 24 hours to compile their findings, verify this additional timeline string, then formulate an actionable solution. It's a lot of work to perform under pressure and in uncomfortable physical conditions. I can only hope they're successful or else we'll be required to enact Admiral Saalm's original plan.

"Finally, there has been no sign of Praxis since its departure several days ago. Nor any communication from Lieutenant Rice. I have no idea where they are, what they're doing, or if they will even return. Every hour which passes brings us closer to our egress date and puts us more at risk of encountering additional Romulan or Klingon forces from this era. We'll be unlikely to survive another engagement against them which means - as much as I recoil from the thought - that I will be forced to leave one of my own behind for the sake of this crew as a whole. It's a decision I'll reserve for the final moment and hopefully never have to make, but it weighs on me.

"Computer, end log."
