Personal Log, Lieutenant Commander Luke Wyatt,

As the USS Galileo embarks on a secret mission, I find myself reflecting on the cherished moments I've shared with my wife, Marisa, and the bittersweet pang that accompanies being away from our children. These thoughts and emotions weigh heavily on my heart as I prepare to fulfil my duty as a Starfleet officer.

Marisa and I have always been inseparable, since my recovery. Our love has weathered the challenges of space exploration, and we have stood by each other's side through thick and thin. She's not just my wife; she's my anchor in the vast expanse of the cosmos.

Being assigned to the same ship has its benefits and drawbacks. On one hand, we get to share our passions for exploration and scientific inquiry. I witness her brilliance and dedication in the field of astrophysics every day, and it fills me with a profound sense of pride. We support each other's careers, and there's no one else I'd trust more to have my back.

On the other hand, the nature of our work often separates us from our two children, Marcus and Seleya. They are the center of our universe, the source of boundless joy in our lives. I miss their laughter, their innocent questions about the stars, and their warm embraces that can mend even the deepest wounds. It breaks my heart to be away from them, especially during these formative years.

The secrecy surrounding this mission adds an additional layer of complexity to my emotions. While I understand the necessity of confidentiality, it means I cannot share the details with the whole crew, adding strain to our already delicate situation. I worry about our safety, but I also trust their abilities to carry out her duties without pause.

These personal sacrifices are the price we pay to protect the remnants of Starfleet and preserve hope for the future. I am but one small piece of a much larger puzzle, entrusted with a mission that could change the course of history. The weight of responsibility rests heavily upon my shoulders, but I draw strength from the love of my family, even in their absence.

As I embark on this secret endeavour, my thoughts will often drift to Marisa, Marcus, and Seleya. I will imagine their smiling faces and find solace in the knowledge that our sacrifices are not in vain. Together, we strive for a brighter future, where our children can grow up in a universe filled with possibilities.

May the stars guide us on this journey, and may our reunion be swift and joyous. Until then, I will keep their memories close, cherishing the love that fuels my resolve.

End Personal Log.
