"Chief Naime, Personal Log.

"Begin recording...

"I just received word from the captain that we may need to go to maximum warp for some length of time. I've warned her multiple times now of the concerns raised by Andrews and Hollenday. It is only a matter of time now before the recklessness of our superiors ends in catastrophe and it will be at the feet of my department that this catastrophe will land.

"Galileo is in pursuit of an unknown ship as a large contingent of our crew are aboard an unknown station and all of the details are classified and above my clearance. All I keep being told is that we have to be ready for long term use of emergency speeds, that we have to be ready to do damage control, that there is a disaster coming and it will be the job of me and my people to see us out of it.

"I've never had a problem before with being in the dark as to the exact details of any mission but up until reaching Latari I had never before had to deal with issues this classified and until I reached Galileo I've never had to be responsible for my entire department. As soon as the current situation has been resolved I intend to speak to our captain and request to be involved in future briefings. I do not want to be held responsible in situations where I have been kept in the dark.

"Engineering still lacks a department head and if the officers of this ship want me to run this department then maybe they should start treating me with the deserved respect."
