Captain's Log, Stardate 69324.5

Galileo has just finished final docking procedures at Regula One. While the crew prepares for shore leave, I find myself feeling anxious about this sector of space. The research station and its facilities are impressive and Remidia is a beautiful planet. But I have never traveled this far from the core Federation worlds. The stars are different. The nebulae unfamiliar. There are few amenities. And there is little in the way of reinforcements should the ship or starbase encounter a dangerous situation. It is the final frontier, as the Humans call it.

Myself and several of my senior officers received summons to a debriefing with the station's strategic operations officer. Commander Tarin, I believe. I don't know her personally or Regula One's civilian administrator, a former officer named Yukime Frost. My instinct tells me Starfleet is in search of further answers from the incident at Latari. It is understandable. Yet I know we will be subjected to questioning and, eventually, a formal review of our actions from three months ago. I only hope the admirals in San Fransisco will not prematurely judge my crew's actions. Let me restate for the record that, should any violation of protocol or Starfleet conduct be found, it is me who's responsible. My crew acted under my orders and should not face any penalty for my decisions.

The ship is in good shape and all underway repairs are complete. Food, deuterium and weapon stores however, are running low. Galileo was never designed for long voyages without sustained resupply. It will be the first order of business when I speak to the station's Operations personnel. And, I am thankful to Lagrange and Captain Rasmussen for the most critical resupplies during our long journey.

Computer, end log
