"Well the fight is over and it was a distraction from our main task of observing the star and more importantly gathering information on the pre-warp civilization that was discovered.

Long range sensors still indicate the star is entering a unstable phase yet again and hopefully we can rescue our away team. Hopefully they have recorded and learned something about the society.

I still do not like the fact that billions of living intelligent beings will simply be wiped out while we watch from afar all due to some rule about interference. I can see the rule when there is not the need but in this situation it does not sit well for me.

None the less I will uphold what is required but trust me, this is going back to the council on Akkadia.

Still I am hopeful that something has been learned, that some way there is some way to help. The data we have gathered so far makes no sense on how the star has lasted this long.

Hopefully we can figure that one out and perhaps prevent a tragedy.
