"Computer, begin entry." Jennifer said clearing her throat.

"To the Captain of the USS Galileo-A, my name is Cadet Sophomore Grade Bethany Jennifer Armstrong, but please call me Jennifer and I am applying for a position aboard your vessel. My instructors tell me it is time for me to start looking beyond the academy and exposing myself to fleet life outside of earth. I personally think they need to stop drinking because with everything that has happened to me, I don't know why anyone would want me.

Wait, that came out wrong. I think you'd want me. I really want to learn what it takes to be a Captain. I think an experienced leader, like yourself could really take me to the next level! This is your chance to mold a young mind into a leader of tomorrow.

"Computer, end entry."

Jennifer sent the message off, instantly regretting it as it was transmitted.

Once again, she looked like a fool.
