"Well that did not take long. Got a rejection back from the Galileo and the Voyager. It was not unexpected. I am sure that having a bit of reprimand on record did not help the situation.

I did pull a bit of favours...yes I still have a few. It is remarkable what you can get when you have patched a few people up, kept a few secrets and maybe saved a life or two.

Well...the Voyager has already accepted fully a new chief medical officer. That pretty much puts paid to that but I found out that the new Galileo has not yet filled the position.

Such a long voyage and out on the, pardon the expression, ass end of the universe, is not getting a a plethora of applicants.

I surely do not want to be stuck here on the planet. I suppose if it came down to that it would be either to resign and go back home or request a leave of absence and same thing...go back home. I love home, but I am not ready to give up the stars quite yet and besides if I did that what would it show to the Council and rest of those that are starting to turn their eyes beyound the immediate horizon? That we are rejected, that the great idea of Akkadia becoming a part of something else, not being quite so isolated was in fact the wrong idea.

No I owe it to myself and more importantly to the next generations that we have new opportunities and perhaps friends off our world.

Well these are volunteer only assignments so I am going to request again the Galileo. Perhaps along with that application this time request an interview and plead the case. Pause log"

Sir, I think you will find that I am better suited then perhaps the application indicated and would like to request a personal meeting and interview as it where to answer any questions you might have. I ask this not only for myself but there are considerations that I think I could only explain more fully with a face to face talk.

Please reconsider the request at least for an interview.
