Amaranai sat at her desk at Starfleet Headquarters. Her job was secretarial at best and she did little more than file or input information into a database that could have received the information from other sources before she would have a chance to input it into the system. Such was the waste of doing something that really didn't have to be done just to keep her away from the crew of the Galileo.

She hoped that she would be finished with the assignment and that she could contact Lirha. The sudden thought of the green-skinned woman gave Amaranai a shiver across her body just thinking about being touched by Lirha. But there was something else that Amranai thought of - going to the Orion homeworld with Lirha. The two had briefly discussed the trip but as the days without contact had gotten longer, Amaranai wondered if the trip would still be possible.

Something else that Amaranai considered was what would happen once this current assignment was finished. Would she get transferred to another ship? Would she get to serve under Lirha metaphorically and physically? Would Lirha even be allowed to remain an admiral? Or would she be bumped down to captain, as has happened in the past when an admiral disobeys orders.

Amaranai considered all of her options and wondered if whatever ship she was assigned, if Charlotte would even be allowed with her. She knew that Lirha would allow Charlotte to join Amaranai, but if Lirha was no longer in charge, what then? Amaranai didn't want to get Charlotte's hopes up, but the girl was ready to join her older sister and Amaranai was going to be glad to have Charlotte with her, regardless of where they went.

Seeing the chrono, Amaranai finished up a few stacks of forms and then started her process for the end of the day. She was seeing her sister for dinner and Amaranai didn't want to be late.
