Impending Loneliness

Posted on 30 May 2017 @ 7:50pm by Lieutenant Amaranai Franklin

219 words; about a 1 minute read

Amaranai sat in the quarters she had been given staring at the computer console. She had been meaning to contact Charlotte and Nara but had been thinking about Lirha instead.

They were getting close to arriving at Earth and though Amaranai wanted to let her sister know that she was coming, but when the two lovers spoke recently, they knew that they would be separated for some time before they could be together again. Amaranai had not allowed herself to cry in front of Lirha and simply went to her borrowed quarters to cry.

After several minutes, she steeled herself and contacted her sister. Amaranai spoke first to Commander Doteen to mention that she would be coming home. The commander was surprised, of course, seeing as it had only been recently that she had been contacted by Starfleet Command to inform her that Amaranai was alive instead of missing in action.

When Charlotte came to the monitor, she immediately could tell that her sister had been crying. Like a good sister, though, she did not mention it. Instead, the two talked as if Amaranai had not been missing or out of contact for so long. Being able to see Charlotte was the one thing that would get her through the long wait of being in Lirha's arms once more.
