It had been a long day and Splendora was looking forward to just spending time alone. Her roommate was gone so she would have the shared living area to herself. She walked into her room and pulled out her Lemurian Raven.

Elithia hated being caged and Splendora hated caging her but it was necessary. When she was home she allowed the Raven to fly in her room. She’d even set up shelves and perches for the bird all around the little room. Also she would soon take the cage to Holodeck time and then Elithia could fly.

Splendora sat on the sofa and Elithia flew from her perch in Splendora’s room to the coffee table. The sneaky bird bent its head and stole a sip of mint tea from Splendora’s cup.

Splendora laughed. “You do like mint!” It was a favored herb of Elithia’s so she stalked it. She even had a mini plant.

She picked up her cup took a sip and then placed it down so that Elithia could share her tea.

She decided she would forgo the pen and paper and enter a personal log on the computer. “Computer start personal log, Splendora Nightingale.” She waited for the computer to chirp its readiness.

“So another day has passed. It’s been a rough few days. First I have to say I am sooo happy that Jonas is here. He is my rock and just knowing that I can call on him and speak to him is a weight off my mind. I could tell he was worried about me and about my ability to do my job after what happened but as usual I am alright. I don’t let adversity take a toll on me. I push through it. Although, I have to say there are moments when I am a mess.

On to Lt. Braxton, my wall tapping buddy.” She smiled. “I can’t look at him without remembering the picture he painted about his abilities with the women. Poor man. Jonas is counseling him and perhaps it’s for the best. The man has a similar history with his family as I do and to be honest with everything that’s gone down in the last little bit those are memories I fear looking too closely at.

Now I guess the last thing is…the overwhelming loneliness that I feel. I miss my Drisilla but if I had to be honest things were off for a while now. Yes I did love her but we hadn’t made love for over five months. There were moments when I doubted that she loved me but I loved her so much. She was…the bright spot in my life. I wish that…that….” She sighed frustrated at her own frustration.

She stood, paced and then sat back down. Elithia, her raven, flew to her and perched on her shoulder. She smiled at the raven. She’d always been amazed at how Elithia sensed her emotions and knew what she needed.

Jonas had given her the day off tomorrow. She’d use it. Hell, she’d sleep through it. “Computer end log and delete.” She waited until the confirmation chirp. Putting Elithia in her cage for the night Splendora showered and changed. She put on a tight black leather dress, the one that always complimented her figure and headed down to Callisto’s Bar. Tonight she’d drink her blues away and if she could help it tomorrow she’d sleep the day away.

She stepped into the turbo lift. “Deck seven.” She waited as the hum of the lift took her to the location she requested. She entered, pulled up a bar stool and ordered a Vulcan Death Grip a deadly concoction that had three types of alcohol in it. It formed layers of green, black, and white. She knocked it back and then ordered another, and another.
