[OOC: This takes place after the briefing log]

[ON]

When the briefing ended about the Paulson Nebula Braxton was the first one out the door. He was focused on getting back to his quarters. It was starting. He knew what was coming. His breathing was already laboured and he was starting to sweat.

His hands were shaking and he was becoming pale and cold. He was going into panic attack mode. He made it to his quarters imputed his code and when the door opened he stumbled inside. He fell to his knees gasping for air. Darkness began to spread from the corner of his sight. Within a few seconds darkness overtook him and he collapsed completely onto the floor.

There, on the floor, while gasping for air memories filled his mind.

***2379***

The ship had entered the Paulson Nebula. Sensors, both internal and external were down and they had been having rolling blackouts. He’d come up with a way to shorten their time in the Nebula and it had worked. Granted it went against what his father had said but the scans they were asked to do were done and they were now about to head out of the Nebula.

He had entered the code to enter his quarters. When the door opened he was met with pitch darkness. He stepped inside about to call for the lights when he was hit with a wave of dizziness and then something was slipped over his head.

Suddenly he was being held. There was a person on each side. “What the hell is going on?!” He cried desperately struggling. He felt the air rush out of him as a fist connected with his stomach.

He groaned. Before he could recover the fist came again, and then again, and yet again several times more, in succession.

The beating stopped and he tried to catch his breath but before he could he felt the fist again, this time it hit him in the face several times. Darkness threatened to take him.

He moaned and then felt a whoosh of air as something long and cylindrical hit him in the stomach. He cried out. It was metal, he could tell it was metal. About the fourth hit came and he heard a sickening sound of bones braking. He was sure ribs were broken.

Then it stopped he was tossed on the floor like a rag doll and one final hit to the legs came. Braxton screamed in pain. His face was bleeding his side…burned. He could barely suck in air.

The hood was pulled off his face and it took a moment to get his eyes to focus. The pain was blinding. He looked into cold, familiar eyes. He gasped. “F…Father.”

The Admiral leaned down pulling Braxton up by his shirt. “Think twice before you challenge your commanding officer.” He slammed him down and the door hissed open. He watched as three figures exited and he shut his eyes. He called for death to finally take him.

What seemed like hours passed and he heard his door hiss open. He was floating in and out of consciousness but he heard the woman scream. She called for help. It was counselor Alina. He felt her hand on his shoulder. “Hang on Braxton! Help is coming. Oh Gods! The blood!”

Darkness claimed him.

*** Present Time***
Braxton shot up into sitting position gasping for air. He looked around, the Galileo He remembered. He was on his new ship, the year was 2390 and he was safe. His stomach rolled and he crawled to the bathroom and hung his head over the toilet. This had been a big one.

He heaved bringing up his lunch and then collapsed on the floor shaking. “I’m sa…safe…” he repeated over and over.

When the worst had passed he showered, washed his teeth, and got dressed. His body needed sleep but he stumbled to his office on shaky legs hoping nobody would notice his paleness.
