The transporter rooms are an area of the ship which are specially outfitted to transport lifeforms and small, inanimate objects. Not to be confused with the cargo bay transporter which is specifically designed for multiple large, inanimate objects requiring less resolution.

Description USS Galileo has two transporter rooms located next to each other on Deck 2. Both are equal in size and specifications and share the same pattern buffer. All key components which are needed for transport are fitted in these rooms and the half-deck below them, including the pattern buffer, transporter pad, and operations console. Either a transporter chief or an Operations crew member is on duty at all times in the event of an emergency transport.
