« Back to Tour Items

Summary

Jefferies tubes are small and narrow maintenance conduits which run through the entirety of Galileo from bow to stern. They can be found on all of the ship's decks and provide access to many different areas of the ship's systems. Commonly referred to as 'access tubes', they can serve as a means of escape or transportation during emergencies.

Description Galileo utilizes its Jefferies tubes in a similar fashion to most other Federation starships. Entrance and exit panels to the tubes are located in convenient places which allow the crew to quickly and easily enter the conduits to perform repairs or upgrades to the ship's systems. Jeffries tubes often intersect with each other, combining to form a network of conduits which allows a crew member to travel all over the ship, if necessary.
