Summary
In the event of an emergency, the Mark II Nova-class is able to jettison escape pods. Each pod is capable of holding up to six crew and is equipped with thruster control and emergency beacons.

| Description | USS Galileo is equipped with twenty of the same advanced-style escape pod as Intrepid and Defiant-class starships. These pods are medium-sized and can fit and supply up to six crew for a period of six months. Each pod is self-sufficient and uses an on-board power generator to supply life support and RCS thruster control. |
