| Personal History | Rafe was born in 2363 on Proxima Centauri and was a bright child and excelled in most of his classes. However, him not having to study because of his intelligence caught up with him at Starfleet Academy. He was always good at math and the sciences and had excellent hand-eye coordination. This pushed him to be good in sports and he eventually took up flying in his teen years. He fell in love with flying old aircraft from the 20th and 21st centuries and would try to go to all the air shows that had antique planes. He was involved in a small aircraft crash from low altitude. This experience hindered him from wanting to fly for a while, for which he received counseling. He wasn't the pilot and he knew he could have avoided the crash. The pilot was a cadet in Starfleet Academy and even though his parents pushed for an investigation, it never materialized due to people covering for the young lady. Rafe never forgave her and vowed to have his revenge because his sister, the one he protected and would do anything for, was hurt. It didn't matter that she recovered. She had been hurt and that pilot would pay. |

| Starfleet History | Rafe was accepted to Starfleet in 2381 after finishing his secondary studies a year early, despite taking a year off due to the shuttle crash. However, he enjoyed his first assignment as a Flight Officer at Jupiter Station. Due to the large hub that Jupiter station was, Rafe enjoyed flying just about everything and anything. This experience made him one of the best pilots that gave him almost a natural feel for how a craft would behave under his hands. Having heard of his talent, he was promoted to Lt JG and transferred to Starbase 718, close to the neutral zone by Romulan space. His piloting skills became invaluable to the Federation for flying dangerous supply and rescue missions. However, that success was cut short in 2389 when he assaulted a superior officer, a commander no less, by breaking his jaw and causing a skull fracture when he hit the ground. By all means he should have been court martialed and removed from Starfleet or served time. Neither happened and his records were sealed. Due to the assault being in the view of the public, even on a small scale, he was reduced in rank to Ensign. However, after just a few months, he was quietly transferred to Starbase 137, given back his former rank of Lt JG along with his clearance. After that, Rafe has had no incidences and has performed admirably in all areas and eventually transferred to the USS Galileo in 2392, accepting the Flight Control Officer's position. |
