General Overview		There's a fire in Elegy's heart and a stubbornness about him. He doesn't lack for clarity; he always knows what's in his own heart, but that leaves him with blinders for the rest of the universe. He can be a bit of a trailblazer; he's not one to follow a crowd, nor even to be aware of where the crowd is going or what the crowd looks like. He never knows what music or fashion is popular. Independence is probably one of his defining features; his parents saw it from birth, and it explains every other part of him. That independence is fueled by impulsiveness and a quick wit that keeps him moving in the right direction, no matter what he faces. Elegy can be a dreamer, but there's no flights of fancy in what he desires. Achieving his desires is the only option for him; second place is never good enough.
Strengths		Elegy's certainty and vision has always made him magnetic to others. His beliefs are so pure and absolute, it makes you wish your own conviction were even half as strong. Elegy has to be all-in about everything he does. If he's not completely committed to something, it might as well not exist to him. He can't find the energy to bother to do anything halfway. Belief and commitment come easily to him; he falls in love at first sight on the regular. He values honesty in others, and he will cut you off if you betray him.
Weaknesses		Elegy is fortunate there are ineffable qualities to him that draw people in, because he can be frank to the point of rudeness and he's competitive about the stupidest little things. He has to win, and he usually does. Elegy has a fiery temper, and it's always honest. He is never passive aggressive; if you wrong him, he will be direct in his retribution. In other avenues of his life, he isn't always quite as honest as he desires from others. He often can't hear or conceive of perspectives that don't align with his own. In particular, he doesn't believe in any personal limitations or even, really, the concept of self-care. He believes anything can be achieved through will, and nothing else matters.

Personal History

Born in the heart of the United Federation of Planets, Elegy was privileged to have it. He grew up with that elusive thing, that critical thing, that everybody talks about, but everyone secretly believes is just a myth. Spinning on the Federation colony world of Alpha Centauri, he grew up with supportive loving parents, who always told him he could be anything he wanted to be. Not only did they fully believe it, Elegy believed it too. Growing up in an economy of ideas and self-enlightenment, Elegy went from stacking blocks, to building sand castles, to drawing the cloud cities of Stratos, to serving the Federation as a designer and architect. If you take a step back and look right at his life, it happened in a singular, unbroken, straight line. When Elegy was 28, he married an Andorian member of Federation Security, named Shrinaohl th'Tothit, whom Elegy had first met at a colleague's wedding. When Elegy was 30, he and Shrinaohl married a Starfleet science officer named Fukumi Reiko, who they first met on Risa. When Elegy was 31, a building he designed on Alpha Centauri collapsed unexpectedly, destroying another heritage building and killing three people. He hasn't designed another building to date. Although Elegy was not found personally liable for the collapse, his professional credibility took a serious blow. That straight line was broken. When Elegy found work amid the urban planning team on the Federation's Latari Colony, Shrinaohl went with him and joined up the colony's security team. Continuing her service to Starfleet, Lieutenant Fukumi Reiko remained with her starship in this time of transition. In light of her pregnancy, she thought it important to keep near a well-stocked Sickbay and nearby starbases. Of course, that meant she wasn't present on Latari Colony when Elegy's straight line was broken again.
