Physical Description Aure is a clean-cut, well-groomed individual who stands taller than most Betazoid males. His uniform is worn impeccably, without a wrinkle in place. When he is off-duty, his wardrobe itself is quite militant, with crisp fabrics in multi-tones of blue and white. He does not make spare gestures, and each movement is completed with purpose. He is not often immediately identified as Betazoid, due to the fact that his eyes are a fluorescent blue. Aure's facial expressions are typically neutral, but he makes an effort to come across as mild-mannered.
Body Art Aure does not possess any visible body art, but his eyes are striking and quite out of the ordinary for Betazoids. They often flash white, concentric circles or blink intermittently when he is processing his environment, which can be quite jarring for onlookers who are unfamiliar with him.

Personality & Traits

General Overview Like everyone in his cluster, Aure was augmented with a form of neurophysiological technology dubbed SAM (Service Adaptation Modulation) which dampened his sense of free will, muted his emotions, and boosted his overall productivity for use in a variety of settings. Aure's primary training was laboratory based, thus his SAM is calibrated to provide assets in the scientific field.
Strengths Aure conducts himself in a poised, calm manner, never one to raise his voice or project his presence, but he does not appear to suffer from any particular shyness. He is easily able to address and integrate with a wide variety of people, and most consider him polite, pleasant and cooperative. SAM provides him with enhanced capabilities, including: environmental scanning & diagnostics, additional strength, resistance to temperature, analytical processing modes, eidetic memory and perfect pitch.
Weaknesses Despite his intellectual competence, Aure has spent a majority of his life as little more than a programmed slave. As such, he does not understand a significant variety of social constructs or rules, and has very few close relationships. As a Betazoid, Aure is psionic, but this is quite undeveloped as it was not prioritized in his overall code structure. Aure struggles to assert his own sense of will, and is hyper-compliant, up to the point of being ordered to harm another individual, which goes against his most basic training layer. Many people distrust Aure, and question just how 'humanoid' he really is.
Ambitions After his 'rescue' from Taelva, where he understood his place and his world was predictable and orderly, Aure has since dedicated much of his time to studying humanoid behavior and adapting himself into this new life. The military was the safest bet for him, and Starfleet eagerly accepted his application once they learned of his skills.
Hobbies & Interests Aure's absolute favorite thing in the whole world is his African Grey parrot, Ilene. He knows almost everything there is to know about parrots, their mating habits, eating habits, and environmental preferences. He has constructed his own holosuite program to better Ilene's quality of life aboard the Galileo.
Vernacular It can be difficult to distinguish Aure's tone of voice from that of a computerized assistant. His word choices reflect his most sincere judgment on the least offensive, most harmonious method of communication available to him at the time.
Orientation Asexual
Language(s) Spoken Aure speaks Yrevish and Federation Standard, and has no knowledge of Betazoid, which indicates that he has no recollection of his time before Taelva.

Personal History Taelva is a Beta Quadrant planet with no native inhabitants, within Orion territory and overseen by the Syndicate. Slavery is a recognized legal and cultural tradition within Orion culture, and thus pervades Taelva as well, but with one unique distinction: the addition of Providers, who are neurophysiologically augmented to perform tasks at greater acuity and without free will.

Often, potential Providers are abducted from transports on long-range missions through their space, or purchased from known merchants, and dumped into specialized estates, which hone their natural skills and teach them to provide for those to whom they will eventually be sold. They are typically chosen at a very young age, as this is the period of time when the medical upgrades are tolerated most effectively.

The purpose of this training is not inherently abusive, Providers are generally worth a great deal of money, and they are treated like valued and expensive property. Owning a Provider is viewed with similar prestige to owning a Ferrari in ancient Earth. Damaging your Provider would only harm your assets. Nevertheless, Providers do not have free agency and are not recognized as individual entities or citizens on Taelva.

Unless specifically directed by their owner, a Provider cannot own property, marry, or enter an official area without permission. The privileges of a Provider are largely individualistic and greatly determined by their environment and the standards to which they are accustomed, which are all highly malleable. The same is true of ordinary slaves. Some enjoy a great deal of freedom, personal and financial, while others are restricted and more stereotypically oppressed.

There are estates which provide training for any sort of market imaginable, some considerably shadier than others, as a Syndicate colony Taelva was a well-traveled destination for its open-minded Blue Sapphire Pleasure Houses, which contained a mixture of both Providers who possess greater endurance, physical ability and environmental awareness, as well as ordinary non-augmented slaves.

Each individual selected for service as a Provider is modified by technology that ensures their compliance, as well as enhances their abilities within the sector that they are training for. As a very young child, Aure was sold to a Taelvan estate from a marketplace on Vizier IV, and placed with a group of sixteen others who would be given the same knowledge and would essentially be his peers.

Aure's cluster was educated in the sciences, but he was purchased at a later date for agricultural labor, so his implants reflect both skillsets. He served in both positions with esteem and received no complaints from his owners. As a science Provider, Aure worked in a hospital providing rehabilitation services to physical therapy patients. His demeanor was always reported on with acceptance and fondness.

In 2390, the Federation-native species of Taelva were rescued by Starfleet Intelligence. As a Betazoid, Aure was transported to the USS Hedaya and relocated to Earth. He underwent a debriefing process, where it was decided that it would be the least cruel thing to allow him to pursue military training, as he had limited prospects.
Starfleet History He is certified as a paramedic (EMT-B). He attended one year of school on Mars. He is also qualified to act as a medical technician, and generally performs duties consistent with an assistant around the sickbay. He cleans, organizes, files, and delivers medicines to various patients, changes their bedding, assists them with toileting, and overall ensuring that they are comfortable in the process.
Medical History Attempts to remove the Service Adaptation Modulation technology from Aure have typically resulted in an abrupt tanking of his life-signs. As such, it has instead been altered slightly, to turn off the portions that correspond to his amygdala and frontal lobe, to allow him to make his own decisions and explore emotions. Other than this, all damage to his body has been expertly repaired, and he is psychologically stable.
Service Record The Galileo is his first assigned ship.
