Personal History		Cal was born on Risa, and whilst he enjoyed the laid back atmosphere of his home world, he was also curious about the way the world worked. A documentary at the age of nine on quantum physics ignited a love of particle physics which ranges from the various string theories to macroscopic effects such as Superconductivity. He worked just hard enough at school to get him into university, and then to a doctoral program, where he worked on projects looking at the actions of various messenger particles. This set off his quest for the lesser known particles, chronitons, gravitons, psions, etc., and to see what cool things can be done with them. Its led to side trips into other areas of science, especially to understand who these particles interact with the macro environments of actual organisms, but the building blocks of the universe are his first love.
Starfleet History		After ten years in academia, Cal wanted to get out of the lab, and see particles in action. He was accepted into Starfleet as a civilian specialist for the Science Corps four years ago, and has been road-tripping around the known galaxy ever since, poking the universe as he goes, to see what happens when he does.
