Personality & Traits
General Overview | Cameron has been regarded as a fish out of water. Although he is hardly awkward in large groups, he generally prefers the company of a few close friends. In addition to his physical and emotional rehabilitation, many of Cameron’s memories as a Borg drone have been effectively suppressed via memory repression techniques. Socially, Cameron is a happy-go-lucky sort of person who tries to be everybody's friend. He's not mean spirited whatsoever, and has a tough time trying to act like he is. This has led to him being more likely to compromise, even when he's genuinely unhappy with the result. He always tries to do the right thing for others though, frequently putting his own interests or desires last. Cameron has a dislike of Klingons. |

Strengths | + Infrastructure and systems expertise – Cameron is highly skilled when it comes to the management of major and minor systems commonly found aboard Federation and non-aligned starships and starbases. +Honesty and Virtue – Whether intentional or not, Cameron’s is generally described as someone who tries to do the right thing. |
|
Weaknesses | - Social Prowess – Cameron tends to be overly conservative when around new acquaintances. While he’s not terribly awkward, he tends to exist in the background, preferring to observe before trying to make an impression. - Memory – Sometimes referred to as someone with the memory of a goldfish, Cameron has a relatively short memory, and can become absentminded. To counter this, he regularly keeps a PaDD around so that he can record things he needs to remember. |

Ambitions | Cameron is figuring out who he is.
Hobbies & Interests | Cameron enjoys tinkering with things, particularly those items which possess wires or circuits. He also likes to visit the holodeck to recreate what his life might have been had the Borg not attacked his homeworld. He has also taken a recent interest in a card game called, “Texas Hold’em”.

Personal History | Cameron Shepard was born on Eliisuk in the Archanis star system near the Federation/Klingon border on April 4th, 2367. His parents were Zachary and Gabriella Shepard, a botanist and xenologist respectively. Cameron had a younger sister, Coleen, but no brothers. Armstrong Colony was a small agricultural settlement with approximately 4,000 colonists. It also possessed a local communications and global positioning network in low orbit, along with a long range subspace relay, and a respectable planetary defense grid. Ironically, it was the same technology designed to protect the colony that lead to its downfall. When Cameron was nine years old, the colony was attacked by a single Borg sphere. While the defensive battery might have been effective against pirates or raiders, it was no match for the Borg. Armstrong colony was an easy target, and most of the colonists were either killed in the initial assault or assimilated a few hours later. The sphere later withdrew to the Delta Quadrant, where, for the next eleven years, Cameron existed only as – “Four of Eleven”. On what would have been his twentieth birthday, Cameron’s unimatrix was instructed to assist with a reconnaissance mission near Klingon space. Its activities were detected by a Klingon battle squadron which brought it down on a Class K planet in the Dymlia system. Several incapacitated drones were later recovered by the Klingons, while a surviving Cameron was transferred back into the custody of the United Federation of Planets. The next two years of Cameron’s life were spent undergoing countless surgical procedures to extract all but a minute fraction of his Borg implants from his body, along with counseling sessions helping him to acclimate to being an individual once again. |

Starfleet History | Upon his release, Cameron opted to enlist in Starfleet. Cameron received his initial training at Camp Armistice near the Axanar home world before undertaking his technical training back on Earth, where he then qualified as a Computer Systems Specialist. His first posting upon graduation was aboard the USS Mason, an Akira-class vessel. After a little more than four years aboard the Mason, Cameron was then advanced to the rank of Petty Officer 2nd class in lieu of reassignment to the USS Galileo. |
