Personality & Traits
General Overview | His moods swinging from boisterous to contemplative, childish to solemn, the first impression people get of Ira is that he is a middle aged man going through a midlife crisis. Although aloof most of the time, it’s only when he sees something (or someone) that interests him that all of his attention seems to focus on that individual thing, as if it has suddenly become the center of his universe. The intensity of his attention, paired with his relentless, unashamed questioning of the subject’s nature can feel overwhelming and off-putting to most people. | |

Personal History | As far as he could remember, Ira lived in the monastery and was raised by his brothers and sisters there. For the first hundred years or so, Ira’s led a strict monastic way life, being educated and prepared for all of the things that would be expected of him as a monk once he finished his studies. Once his work there was done, Ira was sent into the galaxy as one of the Temple’s information gatherers, traveling from planet to planet and gathering as much information about its history and culture as possible over the years before returning home. Ira’s travels took him to countless places, widening the young man’s cultural horizons and opening him up to a much deeper understanding of how the Universe worked. Through all of this, Ira remained devout to his own religious practices and made a conscious effort to be as uninvolved in a planet’s workings as possible. His work came to a halt in 2265. During the Borg attack on the El-Aurian homeworld, Ira was at the Temple and was safely evacuated with the other senior members of his monastery. Beyond the records of Ira’s registry with the UFP refugee center they were taken to, Irin’ira Boulden seems to disappear completely until 2328, when he registered as the sole legal guardian of an underage child named Idris Oren. During this time, he lived on an El-Aurian colony with a small group of his people up until 2335 when both he and Oren Idris leave. After traveling for several decades, mostly under the identity of Jacob Roth, Ira finally settles on Ferenginar, where he marries and runs a successful business right up until the late 2380s when Ira’s life seems to spiral out of control and his crisis of faith finally seems to catch up to him with the reintroduction of his grandchild, Idris Oren, into his life. Wanting to connect more to his roots and his faith, Irin’ira uses several connections to finally retake his identity and lands himself the position of civilian chaplain on the same ship as Idris, the USS Galileo. |
