Personality & Traits

General Overview Miir is a soft spoken man who prefers to observe others rather than be the center of attention. He tends to avoid violence if at all possible, which has occasionally made his life in Starfleet difficult. He is a somewhat private person, but is generally friendly and amicable to others.
Strengths Miir's greatest attribute is perhaps his intelligence. He excelled in school and through the academic portions of Starfleet Academy and can hold his own in a debate with a Vulcan. He is very empathetic of others, almost to a fault. And he is also known for being patient and having a good sense of humor, even in dark circumstances.
Weaknesses Miir has always been somewhat insecure, whether is it about his appearance, his handwriting, or his performance as an officer, he is perpetually haunted by self doubt. He is also terrified of heights, which has been problematic during various training exercises. He is fine while flying faster than light across the galaxy, but he can barely handle climbing a ladder. He is far too trusting of others and gives people the benefit of the doubt even when he probably shouldn't. He also is quite forgetful.
Ambitions Miir really just wants to help people. He also would like to eventually like to have a family and perhaps pursue a second degree in neurobiology.
Hobbies & Interests Miir has a great appreciation for the written word. He has a large collection of books from many worlds. He is also a proficient painter and enjoys gardening.
Vernacular His voice is soft and almost has a purr like quality to it at times, much like many of his other fellow Caitians.
Orientation Heterosexual
Language(s) Spoken Federation Standard, Caitian, German, Vulcan

Personal History Teth was born and raised in Germany, Earth, alongside his twin sister R'lara. His parents worked as researchers at a pharmaceutical laboratory and they lead relatively mundane but happy lives together. He and his sister attended a school for gifted children together and did quite well academically.

One summer, when Teth was around the age of fourteen, his family took a trip to Axanar for a medical conference in the city oh Nortaxa. While his parents where at the conference, he and R'lara were supposed to stay in their hotel.

But being obstinate teenagers, they decided to wander off and explore the city. Teth became separated from his sister and very lost. Unable to find his way back, he inadvertently wandered into the city's underbelly where he was robbed and nearly beaten to death by a group of unknown thugs. He woke up four days later in a hospital on earth recovering from multiple bone fractures and a severe concussion.

Though he mostly recovered (his sense of balance was never quite the same) the attack had a profound effect on the young Caitian. While he was in therapy to come to terms with what had happened, he acquired an affinity for psychology, and from there decided that that was what he wanted to pursue as a career. He wanted to help others the way his counselors and doctors had helped him. And what better place to do it than in Starfleet? With all the various wars and conflicts, he was certain that there were many people he could help.

When Teth turned sixteen, he was accepted to Starfleet Academy where he pursued studies in psychology with the hopes of eventually becoming a counselor. At the age of twenty, he graduated from the academy and received a degree in exo-psychology. From there, he was stationed at Starfleet Medical on earth where he continued his studies for another two years and worked as an assistant counselor, primarily working with post traumatic stress patients.

At the age of twenty four, he was transferred to the USS Glasgow, where he served as the ship's counselor. And he served there for three years until he decided he needed a change of scenery and put in a request for yet another transfer, this time to the USS Galileo.
Starfleet History Teth studied psychology with minor studies in exobiology. He also received training as a field medic. His roommate was an argumentative Andorian whom he tried his best to avoid. Though he greatly enjoyed social events, he rarely was able to attend them for being buried in his work.

Upon graduation, he was given a posting at Starfleet Medical in San Francisco. There he worked as an assistant counselor under a psychiatrist by the name of Dr. T'kara Shel, a formidable Andorian woman who was brilliant and had an awful temper. While there, Teth finished his master's studies in psychology and primarily worked with treating Starfleet personnel who had been exposed to prolonged combat or disasters.

After he completed his studies, his wanderlust got the better of him. He put in a transfer request to serve aboard a starship. He was ultimately stationed on the USS Glasgow where he served as ship's counselor. He thoroughly enjoyed the posting, though there was nothing of note that happened while he was there, save the occasional neurotic engineer.

Growing bored, he decided to put in a transfer once again after three years and was given orders to report for duty aboard the USS Galileo.
Medical History Teth suffered severe injuries as an adolescent from a physical confrontation. Though he mostly recovered, he still has some residual effects. Namely that he has poor balance and suffers from migraines and has anxieties revolving around unlit corridors.
